    Another mistake?

    Hello my fellow "Atkinsers,"
Today, I have bought a box of frozen beefburgers, which I have already eaten. However, looking at the label for the hundreth time, a thought popped into my head "Isn't beef supposed to be carb-free?" The label says that each beefburgers contains 0.6g of carbohydrates. It's my 3rd day of induction, and I'm worried this may be another silly mistake of mine; apart from eating cheese spread

    Enlighten me, please.

    Izzy (:

It is important to check the ingredients on the label rather than just the nutritional panel. Do the burgers contain any ingredients not on the list of foods acceptable for induction (such as sugar, breadcrumbs, etc)? If they do, then they are not legal for induction.

Mistakes happen - just try to learn from them & do better going forward. We all make mistakes, especially in the beginning

No breadcrumbs or sugar-- just onion, some salt and some pepper. Is that "illegal"?

No, not illegal, but onion has carbs in it, so do herbs & spices. That is where the carbs are coming from on the label. Just count the carbs...you are doing fine!

Sounds like a find! Any burgers that don't contain sugar (dextrose/glucose etc) or bread crumbs and other fillers are great convenience foods.

glad you checked and ask peper and onions both contain carbs. a good rule to remember is anything from the plant world will have carbs and need to be accounted for in our daily carb limit.

WM carries angus burgers that are 100% no fillers etc. They even have ones with jalepenos, cheddar/bacon etc. I'm not much of a burger person anymore but DH eats them every now and then, the kids love them.
