  • Day two....am I messing up anywhere??

    Breakfast: Four pieces bacon w/ butter and 1 cup coffee with half/half & 1 packet splenda. Someone told me not to use powdered creamer, so I used half-half and got yelled at again!!! What is "heavy cream"?

    Lunch: about 2 cups salad, 5 cucumber slides, 1 cup chopped red/green peppers, 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 6 oz piece of grilled chicken (salad had 2 tbsp of italian dressing that was from the salad bar; it was regular - not light or fat free. Also, 1 oz of cream cheese and butter over the chicken



    ***I messed up at about 4 am...and just remembered doing this - I must have been "sleep-eating". I had two strawberries.

    I've had about 24 oz of water so far today

    Half and half isn't allowed on Induction. You can use heavy cream. If you're in the US, heavy cream comes in a carton and it's by the milk. It's often called heavy whipping cream or whipping cream.

    I would be careful of any salad dressing at a salad bar ... it most likely has sugar and/or corn syrup, and maybe even trans fats.

    I wouldn't worry about the strawberries.

    I would have more food at breakfast.

      Dinner will probably be chicken, steak or hamburger. 1 cup of salad w/ some shredded cheese, italian dressing (wishbone) and pork rinds w/ french onion dip for snack.....

      I'm dying right now though for something....maybe another coffee with splenda and heavy cream

      I'm hoping for my cheekbones and jawline to appear again. I've read that a lot of people lose double chins and face fat during induction.

        Have you read the ingredients on the Wishbone dressing and the French Onion dip?

        Remember there's a limit of 3 servings of sweetener per day.

          No I haven't but will tonight. Does anyone have a recipe for a salad dressing?

          3 Serving of sweetener per day; how many carbs in each serving?

            As you know from Chapter 11 in your DANDR, a packet of sweetener is counted at 1 net carb.

              1 thing i learned on induction is to avoid salad dressings and just use oil and vinegar. i was amazed to find out how much sugar was in these balsamic and italian dressings. you would probably be better off with blue cheese or ranch over those.

                as atkinsgal said you should be having more food for breakfast.
                also if you need coffee, try limiting it to one cup in the am only.. coffee in the pm can mess up your sleep patterns.

                i also had a bad reaction to pork rinds.. all that sodium made me retain water like CRAZY and they are super hard to portion properly.. just a little tip anyways.

                  The 2 best salad dressings for induction that I found were Newmans Own oil and vinegar and Hidden Valley bacon ranch. The newmans has no sugar, the HV has very little sugar and the bacon kind only has 1 carb for 2 tbsp.

                        when i tried this back in july the first time those shakes and the bars did not work for me. based on what i have read here from others i would try to avoid them. sounds like many have had similar experiences.

                          thanks everyone! It sounds like I'm looking for ANY excuse to eat something!!! That sucks! I started Atkins yesterday because I started taking Zoloft in October of 09 and went from about 135 to 165....I have NEVER been that weight - 165 is more than I weighed in the ninth month of both of my pregnancies. So...I began weaning off of Zoloft last week because although I feel better mentally, I feel way worse with all of this weight gain!

                            Most people I see on here stall on the bars and shakes. You can make your own eggnog shake if you want to try drinking shakes.
