  • Effort gone to waste?

    Hello,
It is me again I have just done something terrible; I ate an apple, a yoghurt and piece of home-made cake. I feel really bad about myself- and I think my body didn't take it too well, as I feel sick. I don't know what's wrong with me!

It's my fourth day of induction and I've lost 6lbs (WOW). I got too happy with my results and thought nothing would happen...

Will I gain the weight right back? Do you think I should re-start induction?

    Re: Effort gone to waste?

You might regain some weight back.

You can't really restart Induction... as in, starting from day 1 again. You can count the days as you wish, but the "real" day 1 was 4 days ago. Restarting two clean weeks of Induction now is unlikely to give you the same results as it would have had you not cheated.

What you can do is continue from where you were... and definitely don't cheat the whole day, thinking that you messed up already.

    thought nothing would happen
I find that hard to believe. I understand that you didn't expect to feel like crap after cheating, but did you not expect the cheat (especially the cake!) to affect your weight loss? And if you really didn't, then what made you worry now?

It sounded like you were doing as good as could be expected with a cheat until I saw the cake. The apple and yogurt may not have been big issues (though the sugar probably would have made you shakey) but tossing in cake on top really did you in.

Of course you knew something would happen. If you chose to eat off plan there will be consequences everyone should know that. You just have to decide if you want to risk the downside of those consequences or not by cheating.

All you can do now is get back on plan and continue on. Learn from this mistake. Remember how horrible it made you feel physically and mentally and use that for motivation to stick to plan. 6lbs in 3 days was awesome. That's almost as much as I lost in the first 2 weeks. But what is done is done if you go up it's a consequence. It will come back off again if you stay on plan.

How is it going for you today, Izzy?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

A lot better than yesterday; I drank a lot of water, ate some veggies and today I'm feeling quite good. The scale didn't seem to register any significant weight gain, so I'm just gonna count myself lucky and consider this failure a learning experience Thank you for asking, though.
