  • Hit the wall

    Hi all,

I guess I need a little encouragement or something. I'm on day 12 of induction and have lost six pounds, which is really exciting. After the first few days, I've felt really good, lots of energy. Today I had a cheese omelet with a little broccoli for breakfast, a few strips of bacon for a mid morning snack, a probably too-light salad for lunch with about 2 c. of greens, a few other veggies for interest, 5-6 small chunks of lean chicken, half a boiled egg, and a little ranch dressing (I forgot my homemade salad so was making do.) I felt hungy within an hour or two, had a mozzarella cheese stick, then about 4:30 had another. By 5:00 I was dragging, very hungy, cold, no energy. I had chicken for dinner, with a chunk of Brie, and several stick of celery. Did I go too light on the fat or something today? I'm feeling a bit better but had no energy when I took the dog for a walk. Help?

I have to admit I'm not measuring it but I estimated I had 8 cups. How do others actually keep track of it?

I use a large glass that I know how many ozs is in it and keep a mental note, or drink out of a 20 oz water bottle...or a 32 oz water water. Just know that you have to have so many refills per day

          >>I estimated I had 8 cups.>>

          It could have been less.

64 ounces is the minimum ... many find success with 1/2 their current weight in ounces.

Guessing how much water you're drinking isn't going to help you long term.

Thanks, all, I'll keep better track of water and look at Fitday. Would too little water alone cause those symptoms?

Not enough food and not enough water can make you feel "icky".

                      Re: Hit the wall

For the water thing, I bought a plastic bottle from WalMart, it is called H20 on the Go and it holds 8 glasses of water. I improvised a really long straw and I drag that bottle everywhere with me. Just have to fill it up in the morning, and since I prefer room temperature water, I leave it next to me while working! I also have a smaller 4 cup one that fits in the cupholder of my car!

Oh I am glad to hear that Priscilla!

This afternoon a wicked headache and lethargy just came out of no where...and I couldn't figure out what it might be from.

Then I realized I drank a lot of extra water from working out this morning and hadn't had very much sodium. Drank 2 cups of clear 'salty' chicken broth and about 30 minutes later...headache subsided.

Just a thought to keep in mind if you feel that way again. It could be sodium/salt levels.
