Hi I am new to this site. I have been on the Atkins diet for 10 days and have lost 10 pounds. I picked up some atkins bars and after I had already eat them relized that the package said for only phase 2,3,4!! On the front package it said only 2 carbs so I thought great I can have this, but I guess I was wrong. Also since I have ate them I have noticed I havent lost any weight. Did I screw up really bad? Nope. Just don't eat them anymore, and consider the fact that you might have slowed your weight loss for now. You'll see the scale move again, likely, once you get back to just the phase 1 foods. No worries! It's a process that we all have to learn.

We don't recommend any of the Atkins bars or Shakes - no matter what the package says. If you look at the list of ingredients, some of them are not on the list of foods acceptable for induction (even the ones marked 'all rungs' or 'induction' on the package). These are manufactured by the Atkins corporation...they changed the diet to allow their products so that they could sell more & make more $$$. On this board, we go by DANDR '02 (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution) - the last book published by Dr. Atkins before he died.
Legal or not, the bars and shakes have been known to stall weight loss in some people, plus they go against Dr. Atkins idea of eating whole foods rather than processed food. They are OK in an EMERGENCY (when only worse choices are available), but not a good choice generally.
Having said that, you have not screwed up your diet...we all make mistakes, just keep going, doing the best that you can! Congrats on the losses so far!!Julie__________________F/37/5'2"__________________Start April 15, 2009

Made the same mistake a few years ago, don't sweat it, just get back on track and you will be fine !!
