  • HELP NOT LOSING THAT MUCH WEIGHT DISCOURAGED :(

    Hi everyone,
I started atkins on april 1st and when I started I weighed 143.6, I got on the scale today and I weighed 137.5. I know that you are all thinking thats better than nothing, but my goal is 125 by the end of june, and I am just feeling discouraged and feel like quitting and having a carb party. I am just feeling sad right now. Any encouragement would help, I want to stay on this I only have 12.5 more pounds to lose, but my food is also getting blah, and I am very bored with my options. Thanks for your encouragement.

first congrats on losing 33% of the weight you need to lose in just 20 days woo hoo for you that would be over 45 pounds ofr me.

if your food options are as problem move to the OWL board and eat more variety of the allowed foods in the correct addtions. you can do a modified OWL read the stickies and ad more food choices but keep your carbs low and still enjoy the sppeed of induction.
It is also very normal to have a temporary slow down after induction 14 days are up. I call it the post induction hesitation in scale weight period cause that is all it is. Check your inches and you will see you are still getting smaller!!! and nobody on that date will see your scale number just the smaller healtheir you coming in the room.

    happy low carbing.

      Hi!
I started on the 2nd and the weight loss has been stagnant this last week too. Don't give up yet though. Have you measured yourself? Are you losing inches? Is it that TOM? Are you exercising? From reading other posts it seems that many people have this plateau for a while and then they start losing again. Starting next week I may delete a few things that I am currently eating like the 3-4 oz of cheese and putting cream in recipes to see if that makes a difference.
As far as getting bored with your food..... Have you looked in the recipe section of the boards to see if you can try something new? What about being a little creative with your chicken or fish and creating an Induction friendly sauce? Maybe you should move to OWL to get more variety?
Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll be out of this funk soon.

        congrats on your weight loss.

As 2Big wrote you lost 33% of the weight you needed to lose. Most people can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight they need to lose during the first 14 days of Induction. This means a person who has 10 pounds to lose can expect to lose 1/2 to 1 pound and a person who has 100 pounds to lose can expect to lose 5 to 10 pounds. You did very well and you shouldn't feel "bad" about it at all.
