Is this normal for induction? I thought I had read that there *are* side effects to Atkins induction, but I'm not feeling flu-ey, just tired. Anyone else feel this way?

Hi Kristi,
That feeling means you are doing things right and your body is doing what it is supposed to do !!
It will pass and you will feel much better. Drink a lot of water as it really helps with the weight loss, I notice such a huge differance when I can get a gallon or close to it in a day.
I hope you are through the induction flu stage quickly, I have not started mine yet, but day three starts tomorrow, so it is coming !!

Thanks girls. I drank probably a gallon water yesterday, but I did drink some tea after I was feeling tired and perked right up. I didn't count any carbs for it though (just regular caffeinated tea, nothing added), so I'm not sure if I messed up. If I did, it didn't show on the scale this morning, I'm down 2 lbs.

How far along on induction are you? I find that for the first three days I do tend to feel a little tired. After that, away I go. Feeling good! For some people, it is longer. If it has been a week or more, let's take a look at your food plan!149.8/no weigh/ 119

1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:
rung 1 - more veggies
rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
rung 4 - berries, melon
rung 5 - wine -
rung 6 - beans, hummus
rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
(on to pre-maintenance)

I just commented on a post about this same subject only headaches. I cut and pasted some info. from the Aktins Diet Program website that I came across last night that explains the side effects during induction. Check out the thread titled Headaches on Atkins. Hope you have a great day despite being tired!
