    elliekrine - not losing

I'm just starting out my self. Its day 7 and I haven't lost anything. I think I must be doing something wrong.

Could you post a couple of complete menus, with quantities and net carbs?

How much water are you drinking?

I haven't been counting my carbs. I just haven't eaten any bread, pasta, rice, etc.

          >>I haven't been counting my carbs.>>

Can you tell us what you've been eating in a typical day?

And are you going to start counting your carbs?

Are you reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)?

That doesn't mean you've been doing Induction correctly.

If you don't follow the plan the way Dr. Atkins wrote it, no wonder you won't be losing weight.

Get the book and read it. At ADBB we are following the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution.

              Re: elliekrine - not losing

I just got the book yesterday and started reading it today. I quit all carbs 2 apr 2010. All rice, potatos, pasta, sugar. I was using reg. milk in my decaf tea until it was pointed out to me it had carbs. I switched to half/half. Before I got the book I did eat a banana, possibly and apple on the same day thinking I was doing really good.
Should I start over? Make my last 7 days a pre-induction? I have about 25lbs. to lose. Maybe this is stubborn weight?
              Thanks for your help!!!!

                  Re: elliekrine - not losing

You should have the 2002 edition. The book you have is almost the 1972 edition.

Half and half isn't allowed on Induction.

You can't really "start over", but you can clean up what you're doing and keep moving forward.

                      Re: elliekrine - not losing

my meals in a typical day:
                      Today:

Brekky: decaf tea with half/half, no sugar, mcdonalds coffe 4 creams no sugar, egg mcmuffin, gave bread to my daughter, ate egg and bacon.

Lunch: Made delicious stir-fry with red pepper, yellow pepper, hot sausage, mushrooms and onion and olive oil. ate it over raw spinach leaves, did not add rice (which would have gone really nicely)

Dinner: One breaded spicey chicken tender ( I don't usually eat "breaded" food, but my mom gave me 6 of them and they needed to be eaten, (from Rouses Deli), aspargus in olive oil, and one small, bite really, of sausage I had leftover from lunch. And a glass of red wine which I enjoyed immensely.

And lots and lots of water.
Don't drink soft drinks, diet soda, or any beveage except decaf coffe, tea, and wine (usu. one glass with dinner)
I also don't add sugar to anything. Not touched the chee-toes the rest of my family ate today or the strawberry ice cream they ate after dinner, which I served, (I didn't even lick the spoon)

I just figured the carbs I am eating in my food certainly cannot add up to much.
The portions are average, not small or large.

You're probably over the limit of cream.

You might want to check out the list of ingredients of the "egg" at McDonald's.

                        >>lots and lots of water. >>

                        How much exactly?

                        >> I just figured the carbs I am eating in my food certainly cannot add up to much.>>

Atkins isn't about getting as few carbs as possible.

Induction is as close to 20 net with MOST coming from Induction vegetables.
