  • Induction and OWL question

Of course lots of people have completed a 14 day induction then moved onto to next phase. If weight loss slows down to 1-2lbs a week during OWL, what about restarting induction after doing OWL for about a month? Is that a good way to jump the body into rapid weight loss mode again?

    Thanks

Atkins isn't about "rapid" weight loss.

If you're doing OWL properly, there's no reason to "go back" to OWL.

You probably wouldn't have "rapid" weight loss anyway ... since you would have already lost the water weight that is the first weight loss on Induction.

Yeah, better to have slow and steady weight loss each week, so that your skin has enough time to get used to your weight loss. That's my theory anyway. ;-P

hehe, that is my theory too! SLow and steady with lots of exercise and hopefully when I am to my goal weight my skin will be relatively firm and not flappy!

Weight loss might not slow down at all during OWL. It all depends on how your body responds to carbs and foods. Luckily for the majority of us, we have an average to low metabolic resistance to weight loss, so our CCLLs are higher than the magic 20 net carbs we eat during Induction. So we are able to eat 30, 40, 50 net carbs daily and still lose weight as easily as we did during Induction phase when it was severely limited to no more than 20 net carbs per day of the limited foods on the Induction Acceptable Foods List.
