Please help me answer this one!!! I'm in induction as well and for breakfast I have been drinking one 12oz glass of a protein whey isolate shake called Gladiator and it's by Smoothie King. Its a low carb 1.5 grams ....0 trans fat...aspartame free...5 grams glutamine....45 grams of protein... and sugars 0.4 grams..Now I use about a cup of heavy cream which has 1gram of carb.... ice ...water... and about 6 blackberries.... It is soooo good and really does the trick ... I just don't know if its allowed... I believe it would be, but I'm very new to this ... My friend said that it will make me gain weight and that is what it is designed for!!!! I have been drinking 1 a day for 5 days now!!! Now get this .... I lost 7 pounds in 6 days sticking to under 20 carbs a day and yesterday i got on my Wii Fit and it said I gained 3.5 lbs and today another .9 lbs.... I'm hoping it's because I'm about to start my period.... I have done nothing different then when I was losing weight at all!!! I'm hoping it's water I'm retaining because of my period about to start OR is it the Gladiator drink???? Maybe someone could look up the smoothie king drink and let me know!!! It might be 100% perfect for this diet or maybe I made a big boo boo and it's making gain weight!!!! Thank you so much, Amber

Re: Is this whey protein isolate shake OK?
Our daily limit for cream is 2-3 tablespoons plus an occasional use of 3 ounces of cream if we are eating none of the other special category food on the list that day. But these extras come with the proviso that they might cause stalls or gains and if so should be dropped from our menus.
One cup of the cream I buy has 6 grams in it and an ounce of blackberries has 2 net carbs - I don't know how many ounces your blackberries weighed.
But it could mean your shake contained 1.5 + 6 + 2 = 9.5 net grams of carbs!
Blackberries would become an option when you are at rung 4 of OWL.
Remember that of most of our 'up to 20 net carbs' should be from our vegetables, so you would need to eat all the rest of your 20 net carbs from veggies, not eggs or cheese or sweeteners to be sticking to rule 3 of induction!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Is this whey protein isolate shake OK?
the protein would be fine but you need to add a healthy fat which you did with the cream but you added more then is legal for induction.
Try using water for your shake with your powder and add 1-2 T of cream and any other fat that is not hydrogenated like some EEOV or coconut or even some nut oil for flavor.
if you can handle raw eggs you might want to go that route instead since the egg has both fat and protein in almost perfect atkins ratios for induction.by the book atkinseer
