Actually, the worst thing you can do is to feed your cravings.

Have something just the opposite ... many seem to have good luck with a dill pickle!

      Hey there,

There have been a couple of threads recently talking about induction and whether it should or shouldnt be allowed, so you will be finding varying opinions I am sure!

A lot of people's (very valid) point, is that induction is all about cutting out those addictions, including addiction to sugary things like chocolate.

I have completed my 14 day induction and recently I made some chocolate truffles using Willies 100% Cacao (http://popsop.ru/wp-content/uploads/...cacao_taxi.jpg) which you can get in waitrose stores, splenda and double cream. I can certainly give you the recipe if you like, but you seriously should consider if you can be disciplined enough to just have one, because if you ended up eating a whole batch...I don't know if that would be good!

Again! I must stress, im no atkins expert by any stretch of the imagination, and I should imagine that me saying this could perhaps be rather contrivertial.

Even better and much more decadent is a pickle with mayo on a slice of turkey....wrap said turkey slice around the pickle spear and enjoy!!!!! Soooooo good!

            Re: Chocolate Craving

Try having some rich cheese like Camembert or Brie or some whipped cream. Chocolate is a very controversial topic on this board, as a true chocoholic, i can relate, but even b4 i ever heard of Atkins i would work to get myself off of chocolate and surprisingly the cravings went away. My goal was day to day, 2 have a "chocolate-free day" and after a few days it subsided. Also there is one theory that some things we crave we are actually allergic to, so although i've never been tested for this sort of allergy and am not allergic to any foods, i keep trying to convince myself that i'm allergic 2 chocolate 'coz i know that if i have a little bit it will throw me off course entirely and make me 'allergic' 2 weight loss.
Personally, i can handle not having pasta, potatoes, even ice cream and chocolate is probably the only thing that would throw me off course big time, so if you tend 2 crave chocolate or anything else i would be super careful w/ putting it back into your diet in any way shape or form.

Stay strong and defeat that Chocolate Monster b4 it attempts 2defeat you and all your fine efforts!

i honestly thought this was silly but YES!!! I ate a big ol' pickle the other day and it did reduce my cravings. It's a great guilt-free snack.

                  Re: Chocolate Craving

Chocolate cravings could be a sign that you need to replenish your aminos. Consider taking a very low dose of 5-HTP (if your doctor approves and there are no possibilities of chemical interactions with other SRUIs) to replenish your seratonin stores, the same area of the brain that wants the chocolate. If you need the amino, you'll know within 15 minutes. If you don't, you'll know within 15 minutes.

The brain doesn't care where it gets its seratonin/feel good chemicals, so choose the HTP with your doctor's blessings, and you'll find you won't crave the chocolate!

I highly recommend this book for more about why the brain craves certain chemicals and how to repair the damage done to your brain's chemistry by the standard American diet: The Mood Cure by Julia Ross.

Also magnesium might be a problem. But I would be the first to admit that those PMS cravings are quite hard to deal with.
