Well today is day 5 and I am feeling a little fed up. I don't feel as if this is working and if anything feel bloated like I have put on weight. I am so afraid of failing as I am running out of options, nothing seems to work for me. Sorry to sound negative but I was wondering if any of you have felt similar to this when you first started out? I have a lot of weight to lose and find it difficult to exercise at the moment due to that but am trying to do some at least a couple times a week.

You should post up the types of stuff you are eating and others will grade your menu and see if there's anything wrong there. 1 liter = ~34 oz. 64 oz. a day is the minimum amount of water you should drink (that's for people not on Atkins also). Are you drinking sodas or anything else with sweetener?

Should I be drinking more than 2 litres then you think? I do occasionally have a bit of lemonade i found flavoured with splenda but thats it really 99% water.
Today I had:
Breakfast: 4 eggs mashed with some butter
Lunch: 1 cup lettuce, 1/2 cup cucumber, 1/2 cup peppers and 2 tins tuna with some mayo.
Dinner: Half a chicken with bacon, 3oz cream cheese with 2 servings of splenda and 2 tsps heavy cream (made like a cheesecake)
Any input would be appreciated

I'm no expert, but I've read enough similar threads like this to be able to tell you that you probably need to eat more vegetables and drink more water. 64 oz is the minimum for water so I would try and drink more than that. A lot of people try and drink 1/2 of their body weight in oz (if you weighed 200 lbs, try and drink 100 oz of water).

You need to eat 3 cups of veggies/day - I only see 2. Also, more than 1/2 of your daily carbs should be from vegetables - lettuce is VERY low in carbs and nutrients, so I doubt that you are meeting that requirement.
It is hard to say much more without knowing your stats: age, height, weight, sex, etc.

I kind of like your dinner - chicken rapped in bacon with cheesecake sounds like my kind of eating. It makes me feel GOOD.
But you are undereating veggies. You need to add some veggies with that supper. Another cup of veggies would od you good. Get some sunshine or vitamin D - it usually helps.
If you are a lady - bloating is natural part of your cycle - I get that every month.

Thanks for the advice... It's 3 cups we are allowed daily of veggies yes? I always have a salad in work made up of lettuce peppers cucumber along with some fish or meat and then in the evening almost always have them but tonight i havent as yet. I will try with the water hopefully that will help....

This is an unusual symptom but one that happens to me on my first week doing Atkins. I've done induction twice and around day 3-4 I end up puffy and groggy. I reckon it is just a weird variation of the atkins flu. It passes, btw- hang in there, drink your water, and you'll see that you will feel better soon.5'4, Medium framed female.
Weight: 135/125/115
Exercise: Stroll leisurely around Miami Beach 1-3 times a week, between 4-8 miles every time.

Thanks all, I don't have the lemonade much it's just in case I feel like I need something extra instead of water I know I have the option (havent had any today). I have a large bottle of water at the side of me now and am going to try and drink as much as I can of it. I may have the veggies in a bit praps with some chicken and olive oil sauteed. It is quite hard this woe much more than i thought but I know it's very early days so thankyou for your support...
