  • Exercise during induction

Going through induction again. Lost 13 lbs, fell of the diet in December. REALLY fell off.

When I went through induction last time, I exercised, did the 30 day shred 6 days a week and ran. It was SO hard though. Should I be taking it a little easier? I feel like I don't have the energy.

No reason to get lazy just because you are on Atkins. Manditory 30 minutes exercise and that is just the minimum. So keep it up. I do shred. It is great stuff. Lots of sweat. If you do not have the energy you may not be eating enough food. So look into that. In the first few days we may lack a bit of energy and it is OK to take it easy then - otherwise - keep at it

I feel like a slug! Hoping that passes soon, I tried running around with the kids last night and just wanted to lie down and nap

Thanks, Liv. I will try more calories. I know I'll get that burst of energy day 3-4. I'll try to work out early in the day and see how that goes.

I started on day 1, and have kept it up ever since. It is a good habit to start early, even if it is hard. It does get easier

I would listen to your body. If it's going through a rough adjustment take it easy for a few days. Then when you get the energy boost and things balance out work in the exercise. Your body will let you know how much and what's too much. IMO

              Re: Exercise during induction

the more demand you put on your body for energy production during induction the faster it will build the new parts it needs to run primarily on fats to fuel you so don't stop what you are doing but don't take on a huge increase in your intensity level on day one of induction. do more then you were doing the day before you started and build up your cardio and your strength.

I don't get in 1/2 hour every day. Real life gets in the way. Uhm that's true for eveyone. Do what you can, and you don't HAVE to kill yourself to loose the weight, but the exercise is non-negotiable. You'll look better in your skin when you hit your goal weight if you have been diligent(sp?) with your exercise.
