Hi everyone, I'm Nancy live in Wisconsin and the cold winters and my hectic life added up in me gaining pounds!! Well I'm sick of it and I started induction on April 13 , I have been doing ok, just felt bad for the 1 st day of no eating carbs, it felt like I was just eating meat and eggs all day, to get over the feeling. Well now I'm feeling sure I'm in balance, with eating and feel full, after I eat. I'm going to need support so every day I will add to my thread what I ate what I drank, and you all can give me adivice if you would like to. I want to do this right and would love to shed 12 lbs minimum my day 14.

I have started exercising 15 mins every day and walking 1 mile mile every day.

    Thanks for a great forum!!!

Hi Nancy, I'm Anita and today is my Day 5 of Induction. So far so good! It's great being able to look at these threads and pick up on tips and see how everyone else is doing. I do see from reading the threads that the scales are not the only important factor in this but that it is important to measure. I measured myself on Day 2 and today a friend at work said she could notice a difference which is great. I'm down 4.4lb so far in 5 days and I'm thrilled.

Are you eating lots of veg too? I discovered a fabulous lunch yesterday... I took a tin of tuna, chopped a red onion and mixed it all together with some mayonnaise and then used some iceberg lettuce as a wrap! It was delicious! I'm in the UK and it's 4pm here already so for lunch today I had 1/2 avocado, a lovely big packet of prawns and some fresh leaf salad veg.

I can't answer any technical questions but I wanted to say hi.

    Best
    Anita

Hi girls! Just a word of advice from a novice... make sure you are getting your veggies in. The veggies fulfill my psychological need for carbs. If I was just eating meat and eggs, I would have never made it past the first week.

And check out all of the recipes. Those have saved me in the beginning weeks when I felt I had to eat something other than meat, eggs, or lettuce. The cauliflower recipes are awesome as are the flax recipes.

Have not tried the Oopsie roll recipes from Cleochatra yet, but I heard they are amazing and seem pretty easy to make.

Anything you want that is not Atkins friendly, there is an Atkins related recipe as substitute. So, be creative and check them out. It will make this WOL much more enjoyable.

Oh I don't have a problem with eating my veggies, I love them, but I used them all up on that first day before dinner! So just protiens left to choose from LOL. But I have been rounding out my dole of veggies to have at all 3 meals. It's hard for me to limit them.

You are going to looove OWL rung one then, NancyJo
Then you can add five 5 net carbsworths per week till you are eating as much veg as you like before moving to the next level/rung
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
