  • Fast weightloss

So I started the "diet: 2 1/2 weeks ago. Ive gone from 228 too 211. My diets been consistently meat, eggs, and cheese and a salad here and there. I also use walden farms for all of my condiments. I still get all my nutrients by a through 2 a day vitamin thats specifically for these kind of diets so im ok there. Is this kind of weight loss ok? The first three days I was sooooo tired. After that ive been full of energy and doing 6 mile hikes just about everyday. The "diet" has been nothing short of actually even being a diet. Its quite simple and easy for me. Im 5' 6'' and a medium stocky build but at the weight I was at I am extremely obese. I dont know..... I feel great and have been loosing inches FAST! What do you think?

Also heres a list of the supplements im taking:

    1. Life extension vitamins x2 a day

    2. Fish oil x2 a day

    3. Nioxin hair and skin vitamin x1 a day

    Re: Fast weightloss

Congrats on your weight loss! It's great that you're exercising and your weight loss rate is fairly typical for folks on induction, if not more successful than average.

A few words of advice: Make sure you are eating your veggies. We are supposed to get most of our 20 net carbs from veggies, and when you say a "salad here and there", that tells me you're probably not getting enough veggies.

If you haven't already, read the book (DANDR 2002)! And then re-read the book.

Finally, don't be frustrated if your weight loss slows down in weeks 3-4. This happens to a lot of people as our bodies hesitate.

Best of luck! Keep us posted on your progress.

By ok do you mean are you losing too fast? No it's not unusual to have a big drop on induction if you have quite a bit to lose. Things will slow down. Good job on the exercise that will help to keep things moving.

The salad and other vegetables shouldn't be "here and there". They're the foundation of your eating. MOST of your net carbs should be from Induction vegetables.

          Re: Fast weightloss

Sounds like I need to add the veggies. I have read the book and I think im just trying really hard to loose this weight. Im keeping my Carbs at a pretty extreme minimum. I usually take in 9-11 carbs a day. The weird thing is I actually have a great metabolism. Im still fairly young so I figure I might as well lose it well I still can. I gained all my weight by eating fast food at least two times a day for nearly a year and a half. I sat down with my fiancée and we came up with 6,000-7,000 calories a day that we were taking in!!!! Not to mention I was severely depressed and rarely left the house in the past two years. These past two and a half weeks ive been outside everyday. Lifes feeling a lot better. Thanks for the help ladies

That's not what is suggested in DANDR 2002, which is "the book" we follow here.

20 net carbs is nutritionally sound and is what you should aim for ... with MOST coming from Induction vegetables.

I will add in more of the veggies. Its not like I don't love them I just need to find recipes that I can use them in. With our limited options, salads are boring. Thanks so much!! ))

You don't have to limit youself to "salad". You can have cooked vegetables, vegetables in eggs, casseroles, etc.

There's over 50 vegetables to choose from.
