  • 7 days in...

Feeling good. I've been better about my fat/protein ratios, and I started excercising yesterday. Damn you squats and lunges, my legs are jello today. So after 7 days of clean induction, I lost 16 pounds. Really after 6 days, because for some reason I stayed absolutely steady between yesterday and today. Chalk it up to working out, my body saying "Whoah!", or just the vagaries of weight loss. I'm going to try using the scale less this week, it's a mentle crutch I shouldn't need. I am getting some keto stix just to be sure (though I would think I have to be in ketosis, you never know) and I'm going to work on more salad veggies than what I eat now (primarily a lot of lettuce).

Please understand I'm a) A guy, and b) Have over 100 pounds to lose, and c) Ate a crapload of carbs every day (before Atkins!). So it's going to start easier for me. Just hoping it continues to slide off at a steady pace. Obviously not THIS fast.

Back on the losing train (another 1.5 gone) and feeling pretty good. Tiem to go get more water! Most days I hit 120oz, which when I think about it is kind of insane. But I find at this point if I don't drink regularly my body makes me feel it and I start getting really dry!

I understand the water issues...I thought it would be tough drinking my required 100 oz. per day, but I am really thirsty and its not hard at all! I think its a side effect of the Atkins Induction making me so thirsty.
