  • stop me from freaking out

So prior to starting Atkins 9 days ago i was a compulsive weigher and eater. God has completely given me super natural strength to get through these 9 days. As i mentioned in a post before ANY TIME i have away with carbs besides vegeatable carbs I have lost a pound A DAY. I lost 62 pounds in 60 days before. I weighed myself this morning for the first time in 2-3 weeks. I was 284! which is EXACTLY what I was before! i have been doing atkins to the book! i have been excercising 45 minutes to an hour a day! and having 6 bottles of water a day (101.4 ounces)....Help!

PS: prior to me weighing i took it to a friends house where it was stored on carpet, so i dont know if that could change the accuracy of the scale....?

Hard to tell whats going on without the rest of your story. What is your typical menu? Also, while it was great that you did lose everyday, it will not always be the case. Body weight does flux each day and factors will be water consumed, exercise, muscle retaining fluids, bodily "issues" foods eaten etc...

Don't fret! You won't lose everyday but you'll get there!!

Did you also put the scale on an uncarpeted surface?

Re: stop me from freaking out

my usual day is for breakfast either a MIM(1/4 cup flax seed meal, 1 egg, banana extract, 1 tbsp butter, and splenda, and cinnamon= Muffine In Minute after you microwave it) with butter or and "egg nog shake" 2 eggs, 1/4 cup heavy cream, splenda, vanilla, and cinnamon. (granted it is heavy cream but i used to go to starbucks everyday and get cream, coffee, and sugar free carmel and still lose a pound a day). Lunch was 3 oz chicken with 1 cup brocoli or asparagus a couple of the days i added a tiny bit of cheese on brocoli. dinner was the same as lunch just a different meat and different vegetable.

          * i put my scale on tile but when it was gone it was on carpet....which i dont know if it maybe just went back to the weight it was used to....

Today(because of the fact i was disappointed with the weight) i didnt have meat and veggies for lunch this is what i had:

1/2 of MIM muffin with no butter, then i had the egg nog shake but put 3 eggs white(took out yolk) 3 tbsps heavy cream(instead of 4) with splenda, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice. and for lunch I had an atkins meal bar(2 carbs and phase one)

Re: stop me from freaking out

I like the minute muffins but flax tends to stall me... maybe look at that and see what happens.

Sometimes it just takes tweaking your daily menu to see some changes.

            You can do it!

If you happen to be female and it is anywhere near that 'time of the month' for you the scales might well go up - it is a hormonal thing and not related to what you are eating.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

One of the other things that we don't know is your stats - current weight, height etc. That would help since if you are really close to goal - you will lose slower than you did in the beginning...

Re: stop me from freaking out

That MIM and all that cream could be the culprits. Those amounts of cream and flaxmeal are not Induction amounts. Also, MIMs can cause you to retain fluids or constipate you if you do not drink a LOT of water. MIMs and 1/4 c. of cream are not by the book for Induction.

Also, your lunch and dinner protein & veg are very light. Don't know what your fat % is. Have you run your menus through FitDay to see exactly what your having stats wise? It can be very helpful.

Not sure if I understand the scale thing but scales don't know if they are on a carpet, a hard floor or in a box. It only matters that it is on a level hard floor when you step on it.

Re: stop me from freaking out

Plug your foods into something like Fitday. It will help show you percentages of fat, which should be 65-70%. If you're not cooking with olive oil or butter, it's likely you're not getting that much. That and total calories to make sure you're getting enough to eat.

I also think you're eating too little. 6 oz total of meat is not enough. I eat 6oz per meal if not more typically.

Also more water. I drink about 150oz per day.

When I don't eat enough, calories, protein, fats, I don't lose weight very well. I might here and there but it's much faster when I'm eating 100% right. When my calories are under 1300, I stall.

Also the Atkins bars (and shakes) are known stallers. I'd avoid them.

Make sure you're measuring as well, it's often you will be losing inches.

You're not always going to lose weight consistently, or just as fast as you did a previous time. The best you can do is follow the program 100% (ask for advice here often, have menu reviewed, track what you eat in Fitday) and let nature do it's job.
