  • My First Day!

Hi everyone. :wave I'm new to the board and today I started my 14-day induction. I have never tried the Atkin's diet before but know others that have and have lost weight. I've tried so many other diets without success and decided to try this one with hopes of seeing results. So far so good. Thank you all for the great posts (advice).
    Yours Truly,
    Vee26

      Change is good

welcome V - I too tried many diets before finding success with Atkins. This WOL (way of eating) works for me because I can have delicious food all the time, and I can have formerly forbidden foods like butter and cheese and bacon.

Make sure to print out a copy of the approved foods list and follow Dr. Atkins instructions to the letter.

Welcome aboard. Induction is a time where you want to break bad eating habits and break cravings for things such as sweets. You'll find as you eat your Atkins these cravings will diminish. Honest! If you decide that you wish to drink soda look for something without caffeine and not sweetened with aspartame. If you find something with Splenda make sure you count it towards your daily sweetener allowance of three servings max. per day. My understanding is one can of soda is 1.5 servings of sweetener. (One can of sugar sweetened soda can have 12-15 teaspoons of sugar!!). Again, get yourself the book and read the stickies. Here's to your success!
