  • Day 7 feelin good!

Sometime ago, I posted about how stressed out I was "stressed out mama" was the title. Anyways, I was advised to prepare meals in advance, and really, that's all it took. I have managed to stay on track for 7 days straight!!! Wow!!! I am surprised myself actually. I've lost about 6 lbs or so and I feel my clothes a lot more comfortably now.

For me, It's not the craving of sweet things or other foods. I crave a drink!! Yes, alcohol. The other day I wanted a beer, and I didn't give in. The next day I pondered a vodka drink, even asked my hubby to buy a bottle, but procrastinated on purpose so the store would close before he could go.

THEN, yesterday, I was still craving my vodka drinks and I asked him to bring home a bottle. But, I didn't get it down from the car.

As I can see, I am sort of getting close to giving in, but I am also stalling. I guess I'm not sure if I want to ruin a good thing.

Anyways, I really needed to share this with you all. It seems like the words of wisdom offered here really do seem to help me stay the course.

    Alcohol isn't permitted on Induction.

If you do drink, know that as long as alcohol is in your system, you won't be burning fat.

        Re: Day 7 feelin good!

        Here's something I read once:

"The rule about drinking during Induction hasn't changed, the reasons behind the rule haven't changed, the way humans metabolize alcohol hasn't changed.

And the reasons and rationalizations that some people come up with for having a drinkie-poo on weekends or at a party or just-this-once haven't changed. The fact that they're all wrong hasn't changed either.

So here it is, straight. If you can't go two weeks or however long you're going to be doing Induction without a drink, you're going to drink. We're all presumably adults, in control of at least some aspects of our lives, and if you're here trying to follow the ANA, you're trying to learn to control the eating aspect of your life, too.

Part of that control is not to drink alcohol during Induction for some very good reasons, which have been stated over and over and over again.

If you're going to drink during Induction, you're going to do it. None of us are going to sit on your right shoulder and beggingly whisper "Oh please, no, no, no," in your ear.

But none of us who know what Atkins is really all about are going to tell you, "Yeah, it's okay, you have our blessing," either, because during Induction, it's not okay.

As with everything else in life, it's your body, your health, your life, and you are going to make this decision based on what you think is most important to you.

It's just that simple, and it's your choice."

          Thanks, That's food for thought....

"Whats most important to you..." I guess for me that would be getting rid of this baby weight...and feeling and looking good.

And the quote after your signature ties in quite well too.

When you know what's important to you, the choices you make are easier.
