Hi, I'm new to these boards but an old Atkins soul. I was recently very ill and recovery has been slow and all I could eat was a food i wont mention here but that put on tons of weight, happy doctors, unhappy me 
However with doctor clearance I turned to my old friend, dearly departed Dr Atkins. This site has been very helpful, I prefer the original book, ordered one off amazon and used your helpful forums and tools to get started.
I'm on day...7 and it is 8amish so I've completed 6days of induction. I had been counting calories eating yogurt and mush but i was retaining tons of water, I had elephant woman Cankles so I knew that induction was naturally dirareticish (my own word) and swapped once I'd shored up my knowledge with your helpful site. I've been in large ketosis since day 3, today I hit max ketosis on the sticks. Starting weight was 187.2. and today I weighed in at 177.8. I am still retaining some water but assume it is highish salt content in my foods and lack of exercise due to weather ( I know I can do in home exercise but am limited by doctor orders to walking slowly, pacing in the house is not looking very attractive, today's going to be nice) I decided to make my actual diet journal available and so it will be posted today if i can figure out how to do it.
I just wanted to thank all the posters for their huge help. I am sure this success would not have been possible without all the people here. I read the sticky's but I also read a ton of posts of success and failure to hopefully see the right path and avoid pitfalls. Thank you all for sharing your experience, strength and hope with me.
