    Re: Not much appetite. Help!

    from an old Atkins FAQ:

HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING DIARRHEA SINCE BEGINNING ATKINS. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING AND HOW CAN I CONTROL IT?

It is not normal to experience diarrhea while doing Atkins. Several things should be considered: Are you eating more dairy than you did before ? Are you allergic to any foods you are eating? Are you gorging yourself? Try adding 1 tablespoon of unsweetened Metamucil or psyllium daily. It acts as a sponge and forms a healthy stool. If you have been on a very low-fat diet prior to starting Atkins, it could be an adjustment period. Try cutting back on the amount of fat for a little while if that is the case. If the diarrhea continues for any length of time you should see your doctor.

      Re: Not much appetite. Help!

I've had (and have read about others that have had) D-Runs on the first few days of induction. Like atkinsgal said, it may just be an adjustment. I know mine stopped before the first week was over.

Thanks. I appreciate the information and the support. I will see how it goes. Nice to know I am not alone...even with D-runs

          Re: Not much appetite. Help!

Just to let ya'll know. I pushed through the weekend and bought some new yummy produce and ingredients for crustless quiche (when could I not eat quiche?)

All is well now. I feel better and this week I am trucking just fine.

So, if anyone feels discouraged and sluggish just stick with it and your body will adjust.

Good to hear you have got through OK and are feeling better
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
