How do you measure a cup of salad???

I haven't tried it yet, but I would think stuffing salad into a one cup measuring cup would be difficult. How do you guys measure out your salad portion? Im sure after I do it a few times I will just be able to eyeball it.... maybe going by weight would be easier for me. I love my scale.

Ive had one salad so far, and it was permade at subway. I think it had WAY more than 2 cups worth. Im not really sure. LOL

The measuring of veggies seems to be giving me the most difficulties... advice is needed.

I made the Cauliflower mock mashed potatoes... and were allowed one cup of cauliflower a day. I know you measure the cup raw not cooked... but how much is a cup? I mean, I can dice them really finely and put a lot more in the cup than if I leave them as big florets. Im really having a hard time figuring out how much veggies I am eating in relation to whats required. and salad... how the heck do I measure that? LOL

Do you live in the US?

A "cup" is a kitchen utensil ... very often it's clear glass with red lines on it:

For volume, it's 8 ounces.

It's not so good for weight measurements, since it measures volume.

LOL, yea Im in the U.S. Guess my question is too simple. I just dont understand how this can be an accurate way to measure our food! I can make 3 leafs of lettuce fill the cup... but if i chop them really tiny I can fit 3 times that in there!!! (Chopped like slaw) Maybe Im over analyzing this part of the diet. But 1 C of salad seems silly to me. 2 cups of salad is virtually nothing... is that right??? If I eat 1 cup of slaw Im eating WAY more than loose leaf. HELP!!!
