I think I messed up and might not be in ketosis anymore. Yesterday I ate almost a whole back of porkrinds throughout the day, the label said 0 carbs. They were bbq and my huband had a few and said that they have to have carbs because they tasted sweet to him. Well, I just trusted the label saying 0 carb but after he said that I read the ingredients and the third ingredient was sugar! This is day 7 of induction for me and now I may be starting all over again if I went way over 20 carbs taking my body out of ketosis. I weighed myself this morning and I as up by half a pound in weight. What happens when you are on the induction phase and go over enough to stop ketosis (not knowing) and go ahead and continue on the diet as if you were in ketosis? Sorry, I know it might be a stupid confusing question.

I am positive the weight gain is due to the sodium and not the third ingredient (sugar). Just drink a lot of water today, and remember to keep those spiced pork rinds at bay; the added flavors might trick your brain into eating more than you're truly hungry for anyway!

Rule number one (if it is not it should be
) Always read the list of ingredients. ALWAYS on anything. Labels can lie because if the portion size is small they can say zero carb even if it not.
So how come you think you went over 20 carbs? And going over 20 carbs don't usually take people out of ketosis - most people will still be there.
I think you probably are seeing that little fluctuation because pork rinds are so salty and they make you retain water but that will flush out easily
So just continue. You are doing good. Snack on your veggies today

Thanks ladies, that makes me feel a little better. I don't know why I didn't read the ingredients BUT I sure will from now on. I am drinking lots of water today and had several veggies so far. I don't know why I thought that going over 20 carbs would take me out of ketosis. I still have a weird kinda metallic taste and feel in my mouth right now and I think I read somewhere that it was a sign of ketosis. I just didn't want to waste my money on ketostix.

IMO, Ketostix are overrated. False positives and negatives all over the board. Only buy them if you want to pee on something that changes colors. It could be fun, but I found that even on a high carb low cal diet like Weight Watchers, if I was losing weight, I was still changing the color of the sticks. Weird, hey?!
