    Im on day seven no weight loss but my clothes are getting bigger but how come i didnt lose any weight i didnt cheat but i had a steak at a restaraunt

    You could be retaining water, for example.

    Was there something wrong with that steak?

      I would not worry about it if you are obviously losing inches Dr Atkins said that losing inches when the scales were not moving down shows we are losing FAT!!!!

      Not everyone loses scales weight the first week on induction, some lose more the second week, so this might be the case with you. Wait till after the 14th day and weigh and measure then and see how you did.

            Question: why is it that my clothes can fit better but no change on the scale?
            Im 5'6" and a 1/4

            Weigh 263 since tue april 20th 2010

            week 1- 257.6
            week 2 - 258.8

            Ultimate goal I can say 160ish but I dont even know if my body would allow that!

                Everyone is different! I dropped 12 pounds the first week, but not one inch anywhere. If it was tight at Day One it felt as tight or tighter at the end of week One. Now, suddenly, I'm pulling in the belt farther and farther. So, maybe in your case its inches first - pounds later.

                  question for you guys im in and out of ketosis sometimes its moderate sometimes its small confused im on day 13 havebt cheated in the slightest way and have been losing inches................... also will i still lose weight if i went on a 7 day religous water fast 2 days before i started atkins help please not... i havent cheated in the slightest way shape or fourm and have read the book 6 times the 2002 one that is

                    I would recomend taking measurements. A lot of people go through this. You sometimes see a difference in inches rather than weight. You can be retaining water from something you ate, or if you are working out HARD you can retain water from inflammation.

                      In that case stop worrying about what the sticks say The readings vary for many different reasons and if you are losing inches you are losing FAT, which is really what we are looking to see, isn't it?

                      Well if you have already done the water fast there is nothing you can do about how or if it has affected your losing now, is there?
                      What is done, is done.
                      So just carry on following the plan and see how your 14 days goes then look at the chart in DANDR to see your metabolic resistance to weightloss and decide how to proceed.

                        This morning was the end of my first week on induction, I have only lost 1 lb! But this is a change in my way of life, not just a diet, right? So, yes I would love to drop 30 lbs in 2 months, but most likely that's not going to happen. Just like any regular "diet", I didn't put this weight on in a few months, I'm certainly not going to take it off in just a few months. Except this isn't just any old "diet". This is my second time around and for some reason it has really hit home this time that this truly is a change in my lifestyle, and that really makes it okay to lose just 1 lb.
                        I WILL learn to feel comfortable in my own body again!
