  • I'm going shopping. Can someone review my list?

I was browsing around the recipes forums and wrote down a few things. I just want to make sure these are all INDUCTION friendly. Some I'm sure I can have and some I'm pretty sure aren't okay... I'll just post the whole thing.

    Thank you all.

    Butter
    Cream Cheese
    Eggs
    Splenda
    Whipping Cream
    Pork Rinds
    Cinnamon
    Cocoa Powder
Flax Meal (is that different from the seeds? I have some of those)
Artisan Syrup (NO idea what this is..)
    Vanilla
    Sugar Free Jello
    Unflavored Gelatin
    Unsweetened Chocolate
    Pumpkin
    Ground Beef
    Ground Turkey
    Salmon
    Onion
    Mushrooms
    Green Onion

I'm sure you can figure out some of the recipes I'll be trying! If anyone can post any last minute induction friendly recipes, I'll be sure to give those a try.

Thank you to whoever helps. I'm sure I could just go to the store and read labels but they can be deceiving and, since I'm new to this, I want to get off to a good start.

I hate to be such a pest, constantly asking questions, but that's what y'all are here for, right? Thank you for the support. :joy

    Hi :wave
Most of the ingredients are fine but some items have a maximum so check the acceptable foods list to be sure you dont go over the limit.

No Sugarfree Jello unless it only contains splenda - substitute the unsweetened gelatin for this and use some of your splenda allowance.

Flax flour is the flaxseeds ground up to a powder.

I imagine the artisan syrup could be substituted by one of the splenda sweetened sf syrups like Davinci or Torani etc.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Thank you for the reply!

I'm off to the store now. When I return, I will check this board again just to be sure I can eat these things. I will also do research on how much of each I am allowed. I am hoping to get the book soon, but I'm not sure if they'd have it at this grocery store. They only have a small selection of books. If not, I'll pick it up tomorrow night.

I ended up getting a bunch of good food.

I also got a book "The Atkins Essentials" which explains the diet, has 100 FAQ's, meal plans and guidelines for all 4 phases of the diet. I also got "The Essential Atkins for Life Kit." It's pretty neat. It has meal plans, 100 recipes, a motivational audio CD, etc. It'll help a bunch. I'm sure y'all have heard of these, though.

Do y'all think these two are enough or should I still get the book that people talk about? I forgot the name of it at this time.

            Thanks!

I'll pick that one up, too, some time. Maybe once I finish reading these two. They seem to have LOTS of useful information, but I'll get the other one just to be 100% sure on everything.

I read AFL about a year ago and from what I remember the trouble with those is that they are really aimed at people who want to maintain their goal weight and contain lots of menus that are not suitable for induction.
Lots of people find this confusing.
If you haven't already read the stickies in the FAQ forum about induction rules you really ought to! They are more useful to an inductionee than the two you have.

Do those booklets explain you the way this diet works ?
Cause it really helps you understanding why you are going to eat the way you do and to stick to it all the way.
                Good luck on losing !!!!

They say that it's a great companion but that the book should still be read.

My mom said that her boyfriend has a copy he can give me.
