Beth, are you reading the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution?

    Have you looked at:

Re: Just not getting it yet - advice needed!

I highly recommend reading the book, this website has great information and is quite thorough in explaining things, but the book is really the Atkins "bible".

But as you requested, this is what I have eaten so far today and what I plan to eat for dinner:

Breakfast - Omelet made with 2 eggs, 1/4 cup ham, 2 oz shredded cheddar cheese, and 12 grape tomatoes

Lunch - Caesar salad: 2 cups lettuce (iceberg and bib), 4.5 oz grilled chicken breast, 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese, 2 tbsp caesar dressing

Dinner - Grilled pork chop, 3/4 cup zucchini and summer squash

The point behind Induction, which is where you should start, is to remain under 20g net carbs (total carbohydrates - fiber = net carbs), eating only the foods listed on the Induction Foods list, which can be found here:

      http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...on Induction?)
Edit: okay I don't think the link worked, go to Atkins Phases -> 14-day Induction -> FAQs -> What foods can be eaten on Induction

Also remember, there are certain foods that are unlimited and some that are allowable but only up to a certain amount. The most important thing is to get most of your carbs from veggies (3 cups salad or 2 cups salad and 1 cup other vegetables). And make sure you have a fat source included each time you eat.

Hope this kinda makes it short and to the point so you at least get the general idea, but as atkinsgal said, the best idea is to read the book.

Check out the "stickies" at the top of the forums - they outline the rules. Reading the book is definitely recommended though

Also, for meal ideas, check out the 'review my menu' section - there are lots of examples, plus comments on potential issues with them.
