  • Sugar free Jello

    Hi all,

Is sugar free Jello allowed during induction? I thought that I remembered reading it was, but I am not sure now.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Well, it's made with aspartame, which isn't recommended.

There's no nutrition in s/f jello either.

It counts as a sweetener, too.

      Thanks,

I was just reading some other posts and they said the same thing. I guess I'll just skip it.

Sugar free jello cubes with canned whipped cream is a huge part of my induction after about a week. It really takes away the sweet tooth urge for me. I am starting induction today after about a year. I also burn over a thousand calories per day at the gym so I get into induction quickly and stay in it as long as I work out and keep glycogen out of the liver, but this time I need to keep closer tabs on it, especially my blood sugar levels.

What are the ingredients in your canned shipped cream? Not all brands are suitable for Atkins. For example, Reddi Whip isn't legal since the 2nd ingredient is sugar.

I just bought some sf jello! Darn! Oh well, it will keep for another week, I guess. I usually do not have a sweet tooth, but for some reason I have one now! I guess I'll lust really enjoy my Benefiber Tablet! (Sugar free, of course)

To curb my sweet tooth, I discovered Jicama. It's a vegetable. But it's mildly sweet like an apple and somewhat crunchy like one too. I followed the recipie of others and it's great.

I slice it into french fry size strips. Spinkle a little cinnimon and Splenda. Yea, buddy.

Be sure to count 1 carb per Splenda packet. 3 max per day including drinks.

Jicama has a good fibre count also. Look it up. Some ideas on You-Tube about it as well.

Helps me when I want a little sweetness. So far I have not found that you cannot have it on induction. Board?

Jicama is fine for induction, it is on the 'salad vegetable' list. I only wish we could find it in UK
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Normally I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but I have never tried Jicama. I keep thinking about it, but just never try it. Now after hearing it described, I really want to try it!

I read somewhere to heat up the jicima until crisp. sounded weird but I tried it and I Love it!
