carb fibre puzzlement???

    carb fibre puzzlement???

    i have green beans the packaging states they have (per 100g) 3.5g carbs total but 4 grams of fibre is this then zero net carbs????

    If you are outside of north america the fibre is already subtracted.

      great i'm uk is all uk food like that??? help my calcs could be all wrong!!!!

        If you've been subtracting fiber, then your calcs are likely wrong.

        In the UK and EU, fiber isn't considered to be a carbohydrate, so it's not included in the total carbohydrate number on a nutritional label. So there's nothing to subtract.

        The fiber count is informational.

        You can always check the item against the USDA database

        www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ (where you would subtract the fiber).
