  • Struggling with the calories

help I'm struggling with the vast amount of calories and getting my head around it! I start off the day with an omelette and mushrooms or bacon and nibble on cheese in between i fear I'm consuming over 2000 calories but keep the carbs just below 20g with the majority of that being high fiber vegetables, i look leaner up top and i am drinking over 7 pints of water a day i am focusing on a lot of toning exercises i do drink coffee with cream but no more than 4 cups a day. i haven't looked at the scales yet in fear that it isn't working or that i have gained. I I just can't get my head round it even though i have read and am re-reading the book!! Help!!!

    Re: Struggling with the calories

It would be helpful to know you stats: sex, weight, height, age, etc. 2000 calories is perfectly acceptable for many people...

How long have you been doing Atkins? Are you mesuring? Try not to stress over it - stress doesn't help weight loss! I'm sure you'll see a nice number when you weigh at the end of induction

ok 5 ft 5 inches in height and 183 pounds 30 years of age and definitely measuring and logging all the food i consume on Calorie Counter Database - Free Online Diet Program i just dont log the meats so much as i was concentrating more on the carbs but without meat i am consuming 1000 calories thats including dairy i.e. cheese and cream and eggs

Log it all so that you know what you are doing. No need to fret like this if it is just guessing at this point.

I meant measuring yourself, not your food My bad - I should have been more specific

Are you counting net carbs? FitDay tracks total carbs, so you need to subtract dietary fiber from carbohydrates to get net carbs.

I wouldn't worry about eating 2000 calories. Just enter everything in FitDay, if you want to actually know how much you are eating.

How much cream are you having?
