  • 2 Questions

    1. is clotted cream ok?

    2. how much fat should i be eating a day? i was going to google it, but then we are using fat instead of carbs for energy arnt we? i know it will depend on lifestyle, but is there a ball park figure?

    Clotted cream is fine, Hayley - just stick to the 2-3 tablespoon limit for daily use.

    There is no set amount for fat, but many Atkineers aim at a ratio of about 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs on induction
    Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      oh, i thought it was 3 ounces of cream!? which is 5/6 tablespoons...

      cool thanks, i think my fat is a bit high, might have to cut out some precooked meats and go for the leaner options.

        just checked my book - oh dear i've had too much cream today... must update my quick reference list on the fridge. god knows where i got 3 ounces of cream from

          That's on the Special Category Foods list... which are foods/amounts that Dr. Atkins observed can slow down or stall some people.

          It really depends on how many calories you are eating. You can eat an egg and have 63% fat, 35% protein and 2% carbs, but that doesn't mean you're doing good.

          So... how many calories are you averaging?

            Just noticed the FitDay link in your signature. Your fat intake looks fine.

            You are undereating your vegetables though. Since you have the book, also review the Rules of Induction. You should be getting over half of your daily net carbs from vegetables.

              yeah, i know i'me not eating enough veggies.... i try, but i'm not a huge veggie lover, at the moment i'm generally having salad leaves and spinach, i dont mind mushrooms and peppers, or broccoli occasionally but thats about it.

                  maybe try wasn't the right word....
                  out of the veggie list i only lke salad leaves, spinach, mushrooms and peppers... ocasionally a bit of broccoli... i like carrots but i cant have them can i?

                  i'm feeling a bit mushroomed out, so i'm only really eating spinach and salad.
