  • First day on Atkins Induction.

Hello everybody!! My name is Brittany and I am BRAND SPANKIN NEW!! It is day 1 of the induction phase for me and I feel great. I feel like I have more energy. I am very sad about having to give up coffee, however. But that is alright, I am very strong willed and I am determined to get this weight off!! In total I need to lose 110 lbs from where I was at my heaviest weight. I am down 4.2 lbs from my heaviest weight ever already, not from Atkins, but from simply walking everyday. I hope the weight comes off fast like it has for most people I have talked to!!!
So, I am new and need friends. Please introduce yourself to me and we can become acquianted. I am very new to this site and do not know how to do anything on here, but I will learn!!

Yeah, I know how that is, though. I have done the same things on other diets, but honeslty I do not feel tempted at all yet and I am feeling great!! I am glad you were honest! You'll do great! We can keep each other on track!!

If it's the taste of coffee you enjoy, you could have decaf.

Michelle, if coffee is the reason why you can't stay on track, I would suggest having a moderate amount (a cup or two), as long as it does not trigger cravings or any other blood sugar instability symptoms. Not everyone gives up coffee... and, if you want to give it up, it's probably better to do so gradually.

Hi Brittany Welcome to our ADBB family
It looks as if you have a great positive attitude to becomng an Atkins loser
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Its not the coffee. It does RELLY bug me but I have to have cream in it and it a big no no I just use every excuse on the planet to give in to my cravings.

You can have cream. It's not a "no no".

Hi Brittany.. I am Melly or Melinda..I will be on Atkins for the rest of my life...which is super cool...I am not new here and I still do not know what to do...because I am not computer savy.. but anyway welcome to the boards...I couldn't imagine my life without my morning coffee and cream..Schellie, I find for me.. and I am only speaking for myself.. if I eat a little more protein, it tends to make me fuller, and I do not think about having something because I am full...That's just what I do..anyway... good luck to everyone....

Re: First day on Atkins Induction.

hi, my name is maria and i am not new to atkins. i tried in 2005 and lost 25 pounds with atkins and doing taebo 4 times a week. i am back on induction to kick of my newly found life. For the last month i have been eating better, after a year of eating junk food and gained back the weight. I started just eating salads and vegetables for the last 3 weeks and have lost 7lbs. down from 178 so i just decieded if i'm 1/2 way to already doing atkins might as well kick it up. i love the way it make you feel andyou give up cravings. i have no cravings for sweets or soda, coffee is out for me too. so right now i started my 1st day of induction i'm at 171.4 and i'm very amp to start with you.

Re: First day on Atkins Induction.

Welcome to the journey! It's great that you are feeling so good on day 1! It might get a bit tough from day 3-5 but after that it gets better. I've been learning today that its really important to enjoy the process - if you don't enjoy it, it's really hard to stick to.

I've been pretty brainwashed into thinking that diets should be hard, the food tasteless and boring, and the hunger a given. I fell into that trap again with Atkins, and then realised today that I can make food as exciting as I want to... just because you have rules you have to stick to, doesn't mean you can't be creative.
