  • Starting tomorrow (Monday)=My menu...

    Hello Everyone,

    I introduced myself on the intro board, with that said I will be starting tomorrow. I hope that I can put myself into a focused mode so that I can succeed.

    This is what I plan to eat tomorrow.

    Breakfast:
    Eggbeaters with mushroom, pepper and onion

    Lunch:
    Sardines
    Salad with V&O

    Dinner
    Chicken breast on the grill
    salad with V&O

    Of course my water and vitamins. I might snack on motz cheese sticks if I get hungry between meals.

    Hi and welcome,
    just a few comments on your menu.
    1. why egg beaters? eat real eggs, they are good for you, and will become a staple on this WOE.
    2. don't forget to measure your veggies.
    3. don't forget to eat enough, of course you didn't list amounts but it sure doesn't look like a lot of food, there is no reason to go hungry on this WOE, ever!
    4. do check out the low carb recipes, they will really help you make this a WOE and not just a diet.

      Yah, really better use normal eggs, you want the whole egg, no use to stick to the idea eggs are bad for you and that when you eat eggs you should leave out the yolks.
      You could for snacking also take something like little meatballs or things like that, make sure you measure everything.
      Drink your water.
      Take your supps.

        First off, i hate egg yolk, but on Atkins i ate so many eggs that i even ate the yolks some times. Usually if i had eggs for breakfast, i may crack 5 eggs and out of that only use 2 yolks and the rest egg whites.

        no point paying extra for egg beaters. the key is carbs, not fat or calories per se. (although in general, you WILL be eating fewer calories because you will be eating more fat and feeling full.) However, your daily plan does not look to have enough fat, so you may not feel full and and/or you may eat more calories because you are still hungry.
        But basically, you don't look like you are really eating enough.

        As for the "motz cheese sticks" better make sure you look at the lable, because usually those things are breadded and NOT able to be eaten on Atkins.

        Atkins is not something where you can really just cut some carbs, it has to be followed strictly. if you don't get down to 20 carbs during induction, you usually won't be in ketosis.

        Maybe you were just talking about slices of cheese.

          This was not a good start

          OK tell me what the **** was I thinking. Day one I start out waking up late. I ate some beef jerky stuff at work in the machine and some green tea. AT lunch I really goofed up. A tuna hoagie, mac & cheese and not to mention the reast of the day I ate 3 large candy bars.

          I am going to start over tomorrow. I don't know why I make things so difficult. I think the meatballs are a great idea but I love it with sauce and that has carbs so I can't eat those. I hate meatballs without sauce. The motz sticks I mean string cheese ones that are cold. They are not breaded. I thought egg beaters would be a healthier choice but I guess you have a point that the eggs are just as good.

          I feel like **** and such a failure. IT was very hard for me to admit this online to all of you. You much think I'm such an ***.

            You are not an a**, you are just having a really hard time kickstarting into this way of eating.
            Now pick yourself up and do the things necesary
            There is a section on this forum with all kinds of recipes, also for sauces that you might be able to use for those meatballs. (and the meatballs aren't holy, it was just a suggestion of things that you could take as a snack)
            And then there is for example this website that has loads of good ideas and all inductionfriendly recipes have a little asterix.

            It might be helpfull to make the things you need the night before, so that when you wake up late you only need to grab the things you need to bring to work.

              one of the best things you can do before starting, is prepare!

              fill your refrigerator with lots and lots of atkins friendly foods. and do read the recipe section, you will be amazed at the yummy recipes there.
              did you know you could have stuff like
              "pizza"
              "danish"
              "spaghetti"
              "chinese stir fried rice"??

              and yes, you can probably even make your meatball sauce atkins friendly!

                Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words. I will do this I know. And tomorrow is a new day. I have to get control of myself and my emotional eating. I really didn't want the candy bars it was like something was calling me to them! I think all this junk food in this country is just a deal the Phamaceuticals made with the devil! :guns
