  • Restart - April 25th - need support

    Hello all,

    I had TOM last week and cheated. I now have to restart after losing 10 lbs. I need all the support I can get - please help!!!!

    Current weight 5/29/06 at 190.5 #s
    Size 18 / Size 10/12

    I'm not sure I'll be much help because I'm right there with you... struggling to get each day under my belt... I kNOW this works... I KNOW I need it....so what's the deal?

    I'm such a wimp... but this time WE CAN DO IT!!!!
    2-15-10 194.8 - highest ever!
    2-20-10 190.4 - new scale
    3-20-10 177.8 - 1 month
    5-10-10 169.8 - 25 pounds gone!

      TOM can be a real pain. Just try to reach for induction legal snacks. Also, distraction can be a wonderful tool against those cravings. I have found that exercise is really helping me. Not only does it distract me from the craving during the moment, but it gives me the boost I need to say no later as well. I just tell myself, "do you really want to undo the 300 calories you burned?" Keep at it and you will be able to succeed.

          I wondered but was afraid to ask.. I'm still new too.. so I don't know some of these things.. urplequ:

              Hello
              I would like to start over with you. But unfortunately I can't start until tomorrow. I really need to lose. Right now I am at 210 pounds but want to be 150. I look forward to talking with you and everyone. Also how do you post your progress at the bottom of the botton of the page.

                STEP150 - you need to go "Profile" at the top of this page, then in the signature line - type in your stats. Hope that helps!

                      Just hang in there kiddo,

                      Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on the program. Remember we all face things that make staying true to ourselves difficult.

                      Pressure, stress, emotional, financial, physical and psychological challenges can all be perceived as reasons to cheat - but they're no less an excuse than anything else.

                      A recovering alcoholic is faced with these challenges every day - the person who is determined to live clean and sober will continue to prevail in spite of circumstance regardless of how difficult they may be - because life sober is better than life as a drunk - period.

                      The same methodology applies here, if you want to change it's going to take commitment and an unflinching will to break the old eating habits that made you fat and compromised your health in the first place.

                      Absolutely forgive yourself, feel good about your choice to stay on Atkins for all the right reasons - and by next month make sure you've taken the steps you need to prevent another cheat and further ensure your success.

                        Let me tell you ladies. I started induction on the 16th. And I got my TOM yesturday, well last night I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEAR CHEATING! I was actually going to get up at two AM and go to the store and buy a jicama, but it was just too cold. So I made some celery with cream cheese. It held me over till i fell asleep. I can not beleive how bad that craving was!!! I felt like a person withdrawing from a serious drug, I was shaking, sweating, jittery, I could not beleive myself! But I got past it and didnt cheat! I figured if I need to do this, and it will help me have children then why would I toss all that out the window! But it can be done, you just need the right food on hand and a somtimes ironclad will to succeed! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

                              Look at it!

                              Look at it this way:
                              cheat free tom = surprising loss after tom
                              cheat on tom= possibly more weight than before tom
                              RESTART 02/07/10
