  • Am I allowed to have this on induction???

Hello all am I allowed to have the pizza recipe that is so well known on here, someone told me to try it but it has pizza sauce, but the site has an asterick by it which means it is induction friendly. Whatsup?? I am not sure. It has ground hamburger, onion, salt, pizza sauce and cheese oh and garlic, please tell me it is in the oven cooking and if I can then cool. I will have leftovers

Great so I REALLY messed up I used regular tomato paste instead of sugar free I didnt know. Anyways I ate some, but I have a lot of left overs, I think that it was high in carbs. I used the whole little can 7g per 2 tablespoons 5 servings per can. OH NO I really messed up Well tomorrow is a new day. I just hope that I dont gain to much, they should have specified sugar free pizza suace on the recipe, and they shouldnt say induction friendly if it isnt. :sadblinky

I think they assume that you know the rules of induction going into it...sugar is not allowed on this diet period. Therefore you always have to remember to read labels. If it has sugar don't touch it.

if it doesn't have sugar you're fine...just remember to eat it in portion sizes to stay within your carb/cheese limits and you're fine.

The carbs were probably from the tomatoes which are on the one-cup veggies list.
Over half our carbs on this WOE ought to come from your veggies so unless you had lots of the one-cup veggies as well you probably would be fine.
As long as on the pack it doesnt list sugar or one of the many sugar aliases like corn syrup etc it would be allowed.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                Hi Sweetz, :wave

Not to worry just pick up where you left off.

It can be an exercise in itself learning to read labels properly but it's essential on Atkins because hidden sugars abound in even the most unlikely of places.

As for the carbs the count is high yes but unless you ate a ton of it I'm sure you didn't knock yourself out of ketosis. In a worst case scenario it would take a day or two to re adjust.

Remember to go very easy with onions on Induction as they're loaded with sugar. I love them but avoid them however I'll make exceptions and use scallion and chives (green onions) which have less carbs than the traditional white or yellow onions.

I've tried the pizza recipe also, and loved it. Pizza is my favorite food. However, I'm not too fond of pizza/marinara sauce, so just to be safe, I left it off. It was like pepperoni bread with the crust, cheese, and other toppings. YUM! :icondance

Be aware that the crust alone for that pizza recipe has between 14-22 net carbs for the whole thing. So please exercise portion control when you eat it. Last year we had a member here who made it frequently and would eat the whole thing PLUS toppings for dinner and wondered why they weren't losing weight.....

I think not2late was referring to the cheese crust you make at the bottom...if you made it that way...you need to count the carbs in everything that is in that pizza...you don't only count the tomato sauce...cheese...toppings...etc

If you get a sauce that is sugar free, try that. Or you can try a white pizza. Which I think are somtimes better then regular.
