    I just wanted to say hello and thank you to all the sticky's at the top of this board. They have been very helpful! I started Atkin's Induction this past Monday. Now a week later I've lost 11 pounds! Horray. I'm 25 and trying to loose the weight that has hung on since I had my son. I got up to 150! Now I am down to 139!!! No soda's for me! I can't believe it.... Really I thought I was going to die on day 2. I didn't realise how hard it would be to come to work and not have a soda on my desk! Now I make my own soda by Soda Club. I don't know if any of you have checked it out. I don't work for the company but you make your own soda using their machine. Their soda is made with splenda. I have been drinking their Diet Pink Grapefruit soda and it is great! 0 carbs and made with Splenda! No caffeine. It has been truly hard however - are people just out to get you the first few days? The first day everyone looked at me like I was nuts. Now I sip happily on my 0 carb soda and say well I've lost 11 lbs.... :P I don't need your stinkin soda. At work its hard. Carb city in the vending machines. Can we eat beef jerky? Anyways. Nice to meet you all - I'll be posting around

    hi sttct - welcome. yes, reducing our dependence on soda is tough but it is also worthwhile. :nod

    congratulations on your awesome weight loss.

    I think we can have beef jerky as an occassional snack food. It would depend on the jerky. I would also caution you to check the carb content to make sure there is no mysterious filler. Also jerky may be extremly high in salt, so I would use it sparingly.

    It is important on induction to eat fresh food as much as possible.
    Part of our transition is learning to live without over-processed and/or packaged foods.
