  • How can I convince myself .....

    that this is the best way for me to lose weight? I go back and forth between this and low-fat, but the problem is I never actually start the plan. I lost a bunch of weight a couple of years ago w/ low-fat and heavy exercise. However, I am trying to lose as much weight as possible for a wedding I have to be in in June, and I know that Atkins is the answer. How can I make myself stick to it??
    So far, today, I haven't cheated, but I need some serious help. Help!

    Have you read the book? That's a very good place to start.

    No one can make you stick with this diet..You need to do it for you, and you will only be successful if you want it and are ready to lose weight. It's as much a mental process as it is a physical one.

      Hi. I have had a hard time since December following Atkins. The first time u usually do it u will be committed..but it gets harder each time u fall off. Next time...make a committment. u dont have that much time for this wedding! First just do a 2 week induction.Simple. come on...the more time u wait and keep eating sugar and crap, the harder it is to lose for the wedding. Start now..u'll look the best u can in time for the wedding. After the 2 weeks, u will see and feel how much better u look..and after 2 weeks u can move onto OWL and add in something different to spice up ur food choices. Trust me. do atkins..and stick w it...u can do it. u will NOT fall off the wagon.

        Commit yourself to 2 weeks, when you see how much better you feel you will realize that your body needs this.

          Research!

          Research this woe/wol. I had to in order to make my decision. I needed all the facts, not heresay. People will tell you anything, especially if they don't approve of something. Most people would approve, if they took the time to find out as much as they could about it. So, do your research, and happy low-carbing.

            Thanks alot, I think I am committed this time. I'm just going to have to take it a day (or a meal :nod ) at a time. Congrats on your major weight loss in such a short period of time. Share your secrets!
