  • Can someone help me with this Protien Shake!

    Hi,

I am into my 2nd week of induction (ketosis going well) and I train a lot down my gym and was thinking about going back on my gym Protien shakes. Could someone please tell me if these ingredients that are below which are in my shake are ok, or is it a bad combination? I also want to start taking a protien bar too and was wondering if thats ok?

    Many thanks

    Phil

What for? 4 carbs per 100 grams? I would "spend" my 20 daily carbs in something better: veggies!

After exercising you can have some natural protein: eggs, tuna ....

      Thanks for answering Pau,

Well I was gonna take the shake in the evening as my 5th or 6th meal rather than having some heavy food like chicken or something on my stomach at late hours!

look at the ingredients...sugar sugar and more sugar...not to mention milk...review the list of acceptable foods...if its not listed there don't eat it

roasted chicken is not heavy but it´ll be better an omelet. Just the whites and a little can of tuna. That´s the best option.

Remember this Way of Eating is a high-fat/medium-protein/low-carb WOE and having two such protein enriched products will unbalance your fat/protein/carb percentages - you ought to be aiming for 65%/30%/5% on induction.
This makes them an unwise choice apart from the fact that they contain ingredients not on the acceptable foods list.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Stay away from the shake you do not need it. It's got sugar in it.

You also have another post that you are having difficulty keeping your proteins amounts down..so why would you drink a protein shake? It won't help in the least.

If you are getting the 65/35/5 ratios you are getting enough protein from your diet

                Hi Sadie,

Yea I was kinda thinking that if I take a 100gms of Shake it would reduce my daily amount of Protien, if I change from chicken as chicken has a higher amount of protein - I was trying to get the 65/35/5 balance

Anyway thanks for all the help, looks like this Shake tub is going in the bin - Cost me £40 too
