  • New to fitday - How does this look?

This is from what I ate yesterday.

    Calories: 1014
    Fat: 67
    Carbs: 17
    Protein: 85

I'm still new to this so I really have no idea if these portions are at all correct. All I know is that I stayed under my carb limit. Is 85 protein a bit high? I know the calories are pretty low, should I eat more?

    Any imput is appreciated.

I also drank at least 50 ounces of water, just for the record.

    Percentages?

Are those your percentages??? If so, you gotta get them down to 65%-fat, 30%-protein, 5%-carbs! Also you are not eating enough calories--this could put your body in starvation mode and cause a stall. You gotta give it energy to get energy.

    Good luck :wave

Those weren't the percentages. That was the total amount of each, or something. Here are the percentages:

      Fat 62%
      Carb 4%
      Protein 35%

I'm almost exactly with your percentages. A bit high on the protein, is that okay? I can cut back a bit.

[Edit: I just realized that my numbers add up to 101%. That's what fitday said, though, so I assume it's close enough.]

      source grams cals %total
      Fat: 67 603 62%
      Carbs: 17 35 4%
      Protein: 85 338 35%

Why don't you post a link to your fitday for us to have a closer look? On your main sign in page at the bottom it should say "May my journal public" Click that and it will give you a link to post here so that we can all see it. See my siggy and click on it to see my fitday journal (It's not updated for today yet, but there yet, but it will be soon. Look at last weeks and this weeks dates to see mine.

          There you go.

I got a little confused on the 1 cup a day thing and being able to eat 2 cups if it's a salad.. I think I may have eaten 1 cup each of two "1-cup veggies"

I will make sure to not do that again.

Also, last time I weighed myself I was around 145 lbs. That was many months again. I reckon I've lost a lot of weight in the past 5 days. I don't own a scale, though, since I care more about how I look and feel rather than my weight. I'm going to see the Doctor today (Probably just "Induction Flu" - I just need a Doctor's note for work) so I will find out my real weight, then I will probably invest in a scale.

Looks good! :nod With your evening meal your cals should go up as well, and I would aim to keep your ratios pretty much where they are. Keep up the good work. (And fyi, I think it is okay to err on the side of too many veggies rather than too few! Even during induction, but that's just me.)

              Thanks.

That was actually all I ate yesterday. So, it included breakfast, dinner and lunch. I think I might have left out an egg I had for a snack, though.

I will keep better track of exactly what I eat from now on.

I'll try to keep the veggies down to 2-3 cups but I love them so much, it's hard. I could easily eat 2 cups for every meal!!

<Broccoli, cooked, NS as to form, fat not added in cooking 1 cup, flowerets 27 0 5 3
Cauliflower, cooked, NS as to form, fat not added in cooking 1 cup 39 1 7 3>

Your only allowed 1 Cup of Other vegetables during Induction. Broccoli and Cauliflower are both other vegetables.

I know. That is what I said a few posts up. Thank you, though.

looks good other then your vegie error. you can up the fats a bit and lower the protein % like you think you did with the egg as eggs are almost perfect ratio Atkins food.

Happy low carbing. Hope your doc is supportive of Atkins.

I was looking at her fitday, and was wondering what the NS stands for. I started my fitday yesterday . Also under daily calories, is the alcohol where you put the sugar grams?

Just curious, and wondering if anyone knew.

                        NS = not specified
                        NFS = not further specified

I always try to pick a 'more specified' option when I enter my food eaten rather than leave it as NS - as if it is for example chicken it is better to put whether you eat the skin or not as that makes a big difference in the figures.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Alcohol is alcohol (ie liquor) not sugar alcohols. if you do a test and choose any shot of liquor you'll see it fills inthe alcohol.

I don't think fitday allows for the 'magic noncounting/counting sugar alcohol carbs'! You have to enter them as carbs.
