The water consumption is truly a habit we have to form and I know a lot of us have had our struggles with it.

I have a 32 oz bottle that is always near me and I'm always sipping on it. I know that I have to get two down for sure, plus extra, and that seems to work better for me than knowing I have 8+ glasses to drink. 2 sounds better than 8...lol

I was away last week and I had a few days where it wasn't possible for me to drink as much as I normally do (air travel) and WOW, could I ever tell a difference in my body!!

          Hey Carolyn492
You CAN do it! 2 pounds!! Throwing Confetti!! That's wonderful! Just hang in there! Think of all the GOOD things you did for yourself yesterday! Today will be an even better day because you WILL remember your water!
I'm back after a looonnnggg hiatus. Talk about kick myself!! BUT! No thanks, I'd rather not! I'll pat you on the back for discovering this way of eating and pat myself on the back for coming back along with all the others who have as well.
Here's to a brand new day with no mistakes in it!

          Be well-

            Hi Carolyn, :wave

Don't be too hard on yourself! You're doing great but the water and the caffeine are non negotiable as far as your long term success is concerned.

If drinking water is a problem for you there's a bunch of things you can try. You can add a little lemon zest, cucumber (adds a nice fresh taste) or even essential oils to your water to give it more of a flavor for you.

For me, I like the bottled water in 24 ounce sports bottles and the lower veggie draws full of them. The advantage is that anytime you open the fridge you can pull out an ice cold water - and because they're 24 oz bottles you know at any given time how much you've had and how much you need to drink.

As for the caffeine, I know it's hard I was a two pot a day Java junkie! but Dr. Atkins wasn't kidding - caffeine stalls weightless and causes a hypoglycemic reaction lowering your blood sugar and causing you to over eat (DANDR page 189)

You might also want to reread "The Wrong way to do Atkins" pages 222-225.

My best advice to you would be to quit the caffeine, as in right now and increase your water intake.

            BTW, gorgeous horse!

great job on kickin the caffeine. now just start chuggin away on that water. what you might want to do also is put a bottle of water in every room of your house and in your car so that you remember it. that is what helped me teach myself to drink it because i absolutely hated water. now we have grown to love each other.
                  make it a lovely day!!

                    Hi Carolyn! :wave

Yay! You're caffeine free, I'm so proud of you!

If you feel headachy pop a few Tylenol or other caffeine free OTC remedy. If I remember I felt tiered for the first few days but it really wasn't bad.

Drinking lot's of water defiantly helped - as did decaf Green tea.

This pic of you and your horse is wonderful - he's magnificent!
