  • Starting Clean 14 day induction over....

    Hi all,
i officially started atkins induction on Jan 27, 2005 and went from 197 to 175.4. COOL. so about a few weeks ago i started messing up. Alot of birthdays in the family starting on on March 1 and ending April30 (and thats only for imidiate family) but anyway. I screwed up. So im officially starting induction over, you know the first 14 days. I know that if i can keep the 14 day i can go after that. Its the first 14 day that are the hardest for me. Im really determained to do this for myself. My Ultimate goal for is to be at 120 by Dec 31, 2005. I dont want anymore new year resolutions for weight loss. Im sick and tired of weight loss for new years resolutions. Soooo my point is starting over tomarrow, anyone want to join me? I will be visiting family in texas the first week of july. So im setting a mini goal #1 for me which will to be at least 150 on june 28. Anyone?? Anyone????

    to be continued,

Hey, welcome back to the wagon! I know you will stay on, I just finished my initial induction a few days earlier... I am now on extended induction cause I got so much to lose. Let me know if you need the crazy glue to stay on the wagon!!! Keep us posted.

No need for you to "start over". Spend a few days getting back into ketosis and pick up where you left off. If you fell off doing an extended Induction, you pick right back up there. If you fell off during OWL, go back to your CCLL and the last OWL carb rung you were on.

        Hi Shelly

I'm staying on induction at the moment and happy to restart induction with you. I think it has to be as our bootcamp days keeping each other posted with a journel of food intake and physical excerise.

        What do you say?

I love birthday and anniversary parties! I love any kind of party!
          I'm a party kind of gal...lol

Get-togethers do offer us a challenge though, especially in the first months of Atkins when we're getting things sorted out, dealing with temptations, overcoming our emotional attachment to foods and so on.

One thing I learned was how focussed I had been on the cake or the dessert at social gatherings. Oh man...that was just the be-all end-all in my mind! The evening was NOT complete unless I had shared in one or two helpings of that.
That was a tough row to hoe when it came to being on Atkins.

What I realized though, was that the food was not the celebration...it was the people involved that were important here...not the food! That came as quite a shock to me, and quite honestly, I had let the social aspect of gatherings slide in deference to the food that was offered.

I started to focus on the people....when the cake came out, I just made sure I had eaten enough 'real' food before so that I wasn't hungry...I made sure I had my water glass full and within reach, and that's when I would really do my visiting with folks.

I've been to many a function in the last year and I tell's ya, it does get easier...so think about shifting focus, keep the water close by, eat before you go if you are concerned about what foods will be offered, and enjoy the company of your friends! :joy

Saturday will mark one week into Induction for me and I have a baby shower to attend. It's for a good friend so I can't back out, but I'm kinda worried about the temptation. I LOVE cake frosting and can eat it by the spoonfuls. I plan to eat a good lunch before I go and to take my water bottle with me. Wish me luck!
