  • 1/2 way there I am SO EXCITED

    Hello All,
So I have been on atkins since April 1st, and I started at 143.6, and now it is May 4th and I weigh in at 134.6. So that is a 9 lb loss. I have 9.6 lbs to go, I want to get down to 125, before the end of June. For that is when I will be getting married, and that is also the next time that I will be seeing my fiance. I am SO excited. I have been with him for 2 1/2 years and I have never been under 143 our whole relationship. Boy is he is for a suprise. I have been eating the atkins hamburger pizza which is so YUMMY. I would recommend it to anyone. This is so great, you know I am 21 and I havent weighed this since I was 16. I just could never get those last couple lbs back down. So ATKINS RULES. tHIS IS SO GREAT.

Hi sweetz. Congrats on your loss.

You might want to look into doing the remaining phases of Atkins in order to increase your chances of keeping the weight off. I can't think I anything more horrible than to regain all the weight back (and maybe more) after spending so much time and energy getting it off.

The last 10 are the hardest to lose anyways, and so if I do the other stages of Atkins then I am less likely to lose the weight before my wedding. What do you think and what other stages are you looking at?? I have to weigh 125 by my wedding, it is just my life long dream , and I would hate if I did something to stall that weight.

Not necessarily. We have folks on the OWL forum who are losing 1-3 pounds weekly. One of our mods, Loonatika, is eating over 100 net carbs daily and still losing weight. And we have folks whose weight loss picked up after moving onto OWL.

It's something for you to consider because going through the phases increases your chances of keeping that weight off. I'm sure you've read the posts in these forums of folks who lost their weight on Induction and regained their weight (and sometimes more) because they never learn how to keep the weight off.

Again, something for you to consider.

have you conpared yourself size wise to how you were on your weight gaining journey? because eating Atkins and working out we add lean tissue we are actually smaller at the same weight on theway back down. I know I was shocked I was a size 10 according to the sales lady at 172 pounds.

You can be a smaller bride at a larger weight in June as as they say nobody sees that scale number they are going to see the healthier smaller you walking down that aisle.

Moving to OWL is about slowly addingf back the healthy veggies, nuts legmes dairy and grains that will make up your lifelong WOE. some folk find they lose faster when they move to OWL and do the rungs correctly taking thier time on each and experieincing the different veggies on rung one for instance.

Dr Atkins says those who get to goal by doing all 4 phases don't have the regaining opf the weight p[roblems others do. that should be motivation for anyone to move on to the next phase when the time comes.

You must with 5-10 pounds left to lose move to Premaintenance so you really want to start OWL soon.
          Happy low carbing.

              Hi Sweetz

-Congrats! I am new to the board also. I just had to respond to your post because we have the same goal weight. I am in my 5th day--134lbs now and my gw is 124. The funny thing is that I gained 5 lbs after getting married last May. So... u r definitely going to have to watch yourself after the wedding. Good luck and keep us posted.
