  • Day 10....no cravings...what's up?

    Hey friends,

This is day 10 of my induction phase and I am doing wonderfully--
BUT that is what has gotten me worried. I have been eating right
by the book and drinking tons of water (165oz+)but have had
NO cravings whatsoever. I thought I was pretty addicted to
sugars and would have tons of trouble. Does that mean I am
eating too much, or not loosing weight, or not burning fat? I weigh
163 and want to get to 143 (5'9). I am having so much fun on
this diet! I feel like I am really taking care of myself and never
seem to get unusually hungry. I need to get more exercise....
but I am working on that.

Pie-- it's funny to think that we should be craving foods we used to live for, and now you've been set essentially free of crazy blood sugar reactions due to those foods!

Still, don't be off guard fully, and always know that things such as PMS, stress, tiredness, or other older triggers could resurface and cause you to relapse if you're not careful.

So, be diligent, plan ahead, and congratulations to you on your effort! You're doing smashingly!

          Re: Day 10....no cravings...what's up?

          Hey Pie4me!
The same thing is happening to me this time around. I was huge carboholic! I couldn't make it through the day without my Dr. Pepper, candy bars, chips, donuts et al! I began program the on May 1st and am having a grand old time! I'm losing weight like crazy and like you there are no cravings!
I say let's just throw a little confetti and enjoy the journey! I think the reason we aren't having cravings is because we are finally eating food that satisfies us!
So enjoy! And keep up the great work!

          Be well-

            Pie! :hug

About a year ago, we had a newbie quit Atkins. Why? Because she/he stated they had no appetite and "there has to be something wrong with a diet where you're not hungry all the time".

That's the GREAT thing about Atkins: no hunger between meals, your cravings can be greatly reduced once your bod gets into that fat burning mode, etc.

The only thing you'll have to worry about is making sure you are eating. For some folks, when they are in ketosis, they don't feel hungry at all and they forget to eat.

Otherwise, if you don't have cravings---count yourself among the lucky, because I think having no cravings shows how truly satisfied you are with your current menu.

              Thanks friends....that makes sense!

Thanks you all for your nice replies! I have been very happy
and content since I started the induction 10 days ago and I
must just be looking for something to "worry" about!!!
I am sleeping better, my nails look healthier, I am satisfied
from eating faster, and most of all I AM IN A BETTER MOOD!

So who cares if I am in ketosis or not? I ROCK!

                Hello NoPie4u! :yes

Don't worry, you are doing great. No cravings means you are less likely to cheat, and cheating is what can de-rail the weight loss train.

not having cravings is a good thing , not negative

if anything count your blessings that youre not craving the foods that brought you to atkins in the first place
