  • Day 5: Another blessing

    Hey All,
I feel so blessed! I am really having a good time on Atkins this time around!
However, this was the first day that I started to feel the pull of temptation. There wasn't any significant 'food event' going on at my school today. It was just a regular day. But I felt like I wanted something. I couldn't even put my finger on what it was. I dug my heels in but it was hard. I think I figured it out though. I think I simply needed more water. I will plan on bringing more water to work tomorrow. (Our water in the water fountains is terrible!)
Thanks for being here for me!

    Be well-

too much weighing can bring you down

jade, this is just my personal opinion, so don't take offense, but I keep seeing you post about getting on the scale. as atkins is a permanent lifestyle and not a diet, it is counterproductive to weigh all the time. also, weight fluctuation on atkins is normal.

i would recommend that you go at least 2 weeks before getting on the scale and even work on going as long as a month or more without weighing.

the scale is just another one of those addictions that keep us enslaved to a twisted dieting mentality. there are healthier ways to calculate success.

good job working your Atkins. Are you aware we have a journal section you can creat your own journal and post your daily observations, successes, concerns ans anything else Atkins in. Then you can have a runing record of yor days with folks comments in them too.

              Hey 2big4mysize
Thanks for the encouragement! No, I didn't know there was a journal section. Where would I find that?

              Thanks again!

                  ho ho ho

                  lol...
i'm impressed. jade, that was sterling attempt to justify an addictive behavior.

but i stand by my initial comment. dr atkins recommended we
stay away from the scale and weigh every two weeks. the
fact that you aren't willing to do it, is telling you something
about yourself you need to know.

when dr atkins makes a recommendation, follow it. if you try to
do atkins but maintain your old dieting mentality you could fail.

would it be such a tragedy if the scale was broken?
do you and your husband a tremendous favor and toss
the venemous steel trap out of your life. i dare you.
