How many oysters?

DANDR says to limit oysters and mussels to 4 ounces.

Can someone tell me how many fresh oysters that is? Let's say medium-sized oysters (about the size of a teabag)?

You know something...I have no idea how to estimate that because you'd really need to weigh it. I would "guess" it was 1 ounce per oyster and count them as "5" to be safe.

All the oysters I find here are either sold in their shells or shucked, placed in salt water and sold in unlabelled seafood bottles at seafood shops

So I'm hoping that someone has actually measured and it would save me from having to buy scales

btw... in Fitday, it says 6 Pacific oysters has 11g carbs - eeek! that's pretty high isn't it?
