:raving
Since I started Atkins I've had to
-get my rings resized, because one fell off (into the toilet, thankyouverymuch!! :yikes) and the other one kept running out to the end of my finger threatening to jump!
-buy new underwear, because mine all seems to get higher and higher on my waist as my belly goes down. (*Fashion Tip* 41-year-old women don't look as cool as teen boys do when their underwear is showing above their waistband!)
-Had to get a new watch because my old one floated around and looked huge and clunky on my now skinny wrists! (they're like sticks! why can't my belly match my wrists!!)
-my fashion options have opened up a thousandfold since I can shop in non-plus-sized stores now, so it's not a matter of zipping in, buying the few items I can find that fit (and usually getting three of each in different colours because I'm so grateful just to find something that fit!) Now I have to spend hours shopping and trying things on :anger because I can pretty much fit anything that's out there. ..and lets not even discuss the amount of money I'm being forced to spend on these new clothes!!
-and the compliments!! I've had to learn how to graciously accept and believe a compliment without getting all red-faced and flustered. I've had to realize that while *I* might look at myself and see the 20+ pounds I still want to lose, others are looking at me and seeing the 40+ pounds that I've already lost, and I have to recognize that when I respond.
This darn Atkins diet...it's just turned my life all topsyturvy and I wanted to prepare all of you for some of the stuff that you're bound to run into, so stay strong! :hug
