  • Heavy Sighs....

:no Well, I totally went off as of Friday. It was TOM and I totally blew Atkins off. I mean, totally and consciously. Plus I have a job interview tomorrow AND I had a big business expo this past Saturday that was a total bust. So lots of stress and I handled it by eating. NOT GOOD.

In any event, my induction starts over at day 1 tomorrow.

I guess my question is: do I weigh in tomorrow since my binge lasted until today (Sunday) or do I wait? Recommendations? :help

Actually you don't need to restart counting if you are on 14-day induction :hug
If you were on day 6 when you fell off the Atkins train then your next Atkins day is day 7.

If you really want to see how much weight you have put on then weigh as usual - otherwise (and especially if you feel it might upset you) leave it a week.

The important thing is to think about how you are going to resist the temptation to eat non-Atkins food the next time you have an important or stressful life event.
Can you imagine how you could have stayed on track?

If you can work out why you sabotaged your weightloss and work out a strategy for not doing it then you are halfway to making sure you don't do it next time :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Hey sassygoddess13!
Been there done that! Glad to hear you're going to 'get back on the horse'! I weighed the first day of the start of my program. When I started Induction again on May 1st I weighed in the first thing that morning. Took my measurements too. Then I started from there.
Hang in there! You can do it. Have you considered taking the supplement Corti Pro? I have been taking it this time around and it really works to help you in those stressful times. You can find it at your local health food store.

      Be well-

        Thanks guys!

Okay so here's my question: you mention "planning" It's not that I wasn't planning or not planning. I just plain wanted some yumminess that consisted of cake and sugar. :no I don't know why this happened but it did.

So my question is what planning could have prevented this? I had a ton of Atkins food; didn't want it. I physically went OUT and bought some yumminess.

This is the first TOM with Atkins for me so we'll see how it goes next month, but alas, I think after going 6 weeks, I was just feeling kind of down about myself, like 6 weeks and I "only" lost 20 lbs., etc. Same with inches...6 weeks and I only lost "x" inches, etc.

I know this works so I'm back on it, I think I need to check in here more to stay on track you know?

Totally don't weigh yourself. You'll be bloatygirl (if you're retaining watrer) and a gain might make you feel even worse.

It's best to take it for what it is. It's a momentary Atkins fart in the continuum.

Get back on that saddle and ride that pony!

As for planning--> You now know that when you are feeling manky you wanted to eat that which you didn't have.

Instead, go out and reward yourself with a cool new release from Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. For the same cost, you can curl up in those delicious jammies and watch some primo tele, and then pat yourself on the back for not crossing over to the Dark side of the force.

                a thought can be changed

                Hey Sass...
I like your accountability and the straight forward way that you talk.
But no cake or sugar is worth leaving ketosis. Being on Atkins means changing your thinking too.

As long as you believe "yumminess" can only be found in food
outside of Atkins, that thought will continue to undermine your
commitment and success. And it simply isn't true.

I have re-defined "yumminess" in my life. Now I get my yumminess
fix from a mock danish, pumpkin flan, sausage and cream cheese, mushrooms and swiss cheese, pepperoni and mozerella, butter and
crab, bacon dripping with bacon fat...etc. etc. etc.

You can re-structure your mind. But it means sticking and sticking to
the foods on the approved food lists until your former cravings fade
                away. And they do fade.

You say you didn't want Atkins food. Yet there are so many
new and wonderful combinations of Atkins friendly foods available.
                Even on induction.

There are so many recipes. There are even ways to make an Atkins friendly cake. Or at least some kind of dessert that doesn't throw you out of ketosis.

Of course we can prepare to head off cravings. Thats what Atkineers do. We control what we put in our mouths and our bodies, and we free ourselves from carb addiction for good. And we are extra strict during induction so that we stop having uncontrollable carb and sugar cravings.

After we adjust, we don't have to keep going on sheer will power anymore. We will crave the healthy foods. The healthy foods become
                our yummy foods.

And yes, stressfull times will always show up in our lives, but Atkins can be our anchor - our harbor from stress.

                It does work. Keep going!
Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary. Eckhart Tolle
