Hey all,
My husband is a chemist. This morning I asked him if when we consume products containing sugar alcohol, do they count? He said yes and this is why. Sugar alcohol is a soluable. It takes water to break it down and yes it does go into your blood stream. Now it may not raise your blood sugar level but you are still consuming it and your body still records that consumption. So, if one is eating products that contain sugar alcohol (gum, candy etc.) then those carbs should be counting counted.
*Here is a great little article I found on this very issue.
