  • I NEED SUPPORT TODAY!!!!

    It is my fourth day and I am starting to lose but I don't feel very good today and I feel vulnerable...I feel like today could be the day I break. HELP. Tell me how ya'll are overcoming.

    I feel super tired...I WANT A BANANA WITH PEANUT BUTTER!!!!! HELP!!!!

    You're probably suffering from "Induction flu" (carb withdrawals). So, the best thing to do, is drink water and eat your high fat foods. The flu symptoms will go away in a couple more days and you'll begin to feel better.

      If you fell well enough, try to do some exercise, even if its just a short walk. Remember, you have 4 days under your belt, dont give them up. I hear what you are saying and feeling, but truly it will get better and you will be so proud of yourself to have beat the demon down! :nod

        I'm only on day 4 too and have almost broken a couple times already. I just keep telling myself that while I can't have ice cream or potato chips, I can have a big steak or chicken breast, and a salad with the really good ranch dressing, and bacon bits, and cheese, and hardboiled egg . . .

        it makes me feel a lot better.

          u can do it!!!! i am on day 3. i've done the atkins once before a few years ago and remember how hard those first few days can be.

          the 2 things that kept me going were:

          1. to think about the end result (how fabulous and healthy you will feel when you are at a healthy weight and the clothes lookin good is a bonus!)

          2. MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR ME, the question i had to ask myself was: if atkins can help me acheive a healthier body, i owe it to myself to give at least the 2 week induction phase a shot. all my body is asking is for 2 weeks out of my entire life to at least try. i've spent years not taking care of my body so i definitely owe it to myself to at least try a few weeks or a few months of something new.

          i also remember how good i felt when i dropped my first 20 pounds. "good" as in physically good. my back hurt a lot 24/7 but once i lost that first 20 pounds, even though i still had another 20 to go, the pain was almost completey gone.

          that said, i allowed myself to gain back that 20 plus another 30 over the past 3 years. my life living in "freedom" of eating whatever and as much as i wanted has imprisoned me. my back hurts constantly again, i am tired, i've had to buy a new plus-sized wardrobe. no fun.

          so i've experienced victory and defeat and victory is definitely where u want to be! just know that everyone here supports u and honestly knows how u r feeling and what u r going thru because we're all doing it too with you!

          i would also definitely encourage u to look at some of the before/after picture postings and some of the other forums where ppl have lost 100+ pounds. those have really helped me focus on what results are possible if i don't give up.

            fight for your freedom from carb addiction

            Keep going - you won't believe how wonderful you will feel once you get in ketosis and stay there.

            It can be as easy as you allow it to be. Focusing on carbage you don't need is a waste of energy right now.

            Eat some delicious veggies. Eat some jicama instead. Make a mock danish. Have some crab. Spoil yourself in other ways. Focus on what you can enjoy right now, then go enjoy it. :nod

            It gets easier. Have faith in yourself - you can do it.
