Well, look on the bright side, you know you are salt sensitive. So, you will now be able to make a conscious effort to avoid excessive salt in your food.

Be sure to drink all of your water.

I completely understand. I am very salt-sensitive. A little dash and my hands and feet swell up along with bloating. I avoid salt as much as I possibly can.

It's so hard to avoid salt, but I use it sparingly though

I recommend the Morton Lite Salt ... made with potassium chloride ... tastes the same as regular salt with 1/3 less sodium.. plus a great source of potassiuim which we need anyway!!

I already have water retention without the salt so I just sucked it up and totally gave it up. I admit it makes MANY bland tasting things taste much better but its either be daddy fat ankles or give it up totally.

Remember, we need a little bit of soduim to supplement what is naturally there..key word-little.

I try to not get canned vegetables or prepared stuff cause I know its loaded with salt, but it is hard to avoide it completely. At least cooking and steaming at home allow you to regualte it.

I asked my doctor what would happen if I completely quit using salt. Her answer was that we get enough sodium out of our foods, we don't need to add any salt to it. So, I've quit using any extra salt and I am doing fine without it. I have found that I was a salt-a-holic...Now that I quit using salt, I no longer crave chips, popcorn or pretzels.
