I have a question. I'm having a hard time with the 65/30/5. I don't think I'm getting enough carbs. I'm avaergaing about 64/35/1. Each day I have tracked on fitday, I can't get pass 2% in carbs. Is this going to be a problem for me?

The important thing is to eat the three cups of veggies per day (either three from the 'salad' list, to two from that list and one from the 'other acceptable' veggie list). We would encourage you to not have just three cups of lettuce every day because so many of the other choices contain more nutrients and fibre.

                  hi there

Welcome Tara35 - good to have you with us. Post your menu in the Menu Forum and have the experts take a look at it. Also there are some quirks associated with Fitday itself. Sometimes you have to tweak Fitday a little or take your best guess.

Anyhoo, it is great that you are being conscientious about having the right portions.

Hi Tara, Welcome aboard and if you have not already I suggest getting the newest Atkins book which is dated 2002. I would like to say calories do not matter but I am not 100% sure so I will need to go check the book when I get home to make sure.

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE BOOK! It is the best $5 you will ever spend and while it may seem a bit boring in the beginning it is nice to know exactly what is happening to your body and what is to be expected

BTW: I only on day 3 also

Good luck to you Tara! I'm still on Induction as well, I'm going for my weekly weigh in and BMI check at the local Nutrition centre tonight! Last week I was down 5 pounds after being on Atkins for about 4 days, so I'm excited to know what it will be this week..

This board rocks though! ha :nod Keep checking the posts and gaining support from everyone!

                        take care and good luck

As to worrying about calories - during induction you really shouldn't, just concentrate on eating only food from the accpetable list and up to 20 carb (mostly from veggies) and getting all your water in :hug
If you find you are stalling (=4 weeks no weight or inches lost)or gaining weight when you are further along your Atkins journey then take a look at your calories, but forget them at the moment.
